International singer Barry Manilow, 72, was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital last Thursday, February 11, which forced him to cancel the remaining leg of his concert tour.
Manilow had just played a sold-out concert in Memphis when he was taken to the hospital because of complications from an emergency surgery he underwent a few weeks earlier, his management said in a statement issued by his publicist.
New York-born Manilow had to postpone his other scheduled shows for Thursday and Friday and it will be re-scheduled once the singer has fully recovered. Manilow is an American singer-songwriter wwho rose to fame for his recordings of hit singles such as “Mandy,” “Somewhere Down The Road,” “Can’t Smile Without You,” “I Write The Songs,” “Looks Like We Made It,” “Weekend In New England,” “Even Now,” “Copacabana,” and “”Could It Be Magic.”
Manilow has suffered and endured health scares over the years and has said to be in an ongoing tour which will be his last. The said tour is scheduled to end on June 23 at the O2 Arena in London.
