More than a passion, showbiz seems to be a calling. The call for a comeback is a strong one for Marinella Moran. The ’90s actress is set to return to showbusiness as an actress and producer.

Moran ventured into acting at the age of 13 when she signed with Seiko Films. She made a mark with the daring project “Paraiso ni Efren” under the tutelage of the late Maryo J. Delos Reyes. The said film earned her a best actress nomination.

These days, shuttling back and forth between Singapore and Manila has been the way of life for Moran. While she has been based in the Lion City since 2005 after getting married, the actress admits Manila remains her home and showbiz will always have a special place in her heart. While she’s away, she makes use of social media platforms to reconnect with her kababayans. It was during the worldwide lockdown that she started becoming active again online and helping others through charitable livestream events.

For her upcoming comeback, Moran aims to hit two birds with one stone. Not only is she going to act but Moran is also set to produce film projects. She is closely working with a new talent manager, national pageant director Tatta Saguin. For producing, she is teaming up with another talent manager, Lito De Guzman.

Working with high-caliber artists is one of Moran’s goals as she re-enters showbiz. She expressed desire to work with seasoned actresses Claudine Barretto and Andi Eigenmann.

When it comes to actors, Moran was quick to name Derek Ramsay as someone she would love to work with. She excitedly explained, “Nakita ko ‘yung movie niya  na ‘No Other Woman,’ ang galing-galing. Madadala niya ‘yung  kaeksena niya sa acting.”

Excitement is truly evident for the returning actress and she attributes the idea of making a comeback to rewatching her old films. While locked up at home due to the global health crisis, Moran had the opportunity to watch her “Paraiso ni Efren” after so many years and a longing to give showbiz another try was triggered.

As Moran returns, her family is in full support. In fact, she expressed excitement for her two-year old baby Alexander Robin Hardman to share the limelight. The young boy with Filipino and German roots will explore VTR auditions in advertising.

Exciting times for Moran are definitely coming. While she’s just waiting for another shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, she’s also gearing herself up for another shot in showbiz. That is something we can all look forward to.

Actress and producer ended, “Just stay strong. Life is short. Make sure to always say and show your love to your friends and family. And always value life.”
