
Philippine Olympic Committee backed Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. receives FIVB recognition

Inaprubahan ng The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (International Federation of Volleyball) o FIVB ang Larong Volleyball sa bansang Pilipinas, Inc. noong Mayo 12 na naayon sa batas.

“We’re pleased to inform you that the FIVB Board of Administration decided in its meeting on May 12 to approve the affiliation of Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc.(LVPI) as the member of the FIVB,” sabi ng FIVB President na si Dr. Ary Graca in a one-page letter to LVPI chief Joey Romasanta. “The FIVB recognizes LVPI as the legitimate and exclusive authority, under the leadership of its president, Mr. Jose Romasanta, and its secretary-general, Mr. Ricky Palou, to govern volleyball and beach volleyball in the Phillipines.” “We would like to warmly welcome you to the volleyball family and take this opportunity to wish you every success,” dagdag ni Graca. Tinanggap ni Romasanta ang magandang balita at sinabing: “This is a breath of fresh air for a sport making a comeback to the Southeast Asian Games after a decade-long absence, “We can focus on our training and preparations towards the SEA Games,” sabi naman ni Romasanta LVPI ang ipinalit sa Philippine Volleyball Federation pagkatapos nitong matanggap ang suporta ng Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Superligam Shakey’s V-League, UAAP at NCAA.
