Richard Gomez is ready for the 2015 Southeast Asian Games

As we all know, Richard Gomez is also a superb athlete. For years, he dominated in the Star Olympics particularly in basketball. For a time, Gomez also joined our rowing team. Then, he would go on to compete in fencing. Now, he is on his way to the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore but not as a competitor. Rather, he will be gracing the event as a team official for the country’s Olympic committee.
To show his excitement for the upcoming SEA Games, Gomez posted a photo of his official delegation ID on his Instagram account. While he might have wanted to compete, we must not forget that he was part of the Men’s Team Epee that won the gold medal in the 2005 Southeast Asian Games which was held in Manila. While the focus of the games should be on the athletes that will be giving pride to our nation, Filipinos in Singapore would love to get close to the matinee actor. As of press time, the photo has gained close to 1,500 likes.
The 28th Southeast Asian Games will be held from June 5-16. The competition’s main venue will be the Singapore National Stadium. Around 7000 athletes from the 11 countries will compete in about 37 sporting disciplines.
