Fast & Furious 8 scenes to be shot in Manila
Fasten your seat belts as the box office phenomenon film Fast & Furious series will soon be returning to the silver screen. Fast & Furious 7 created such a smash hit, earning more than $1.5 billion globally, Universal will be extending the movie to yet another chapter. Actors Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, and Dwayne Johnson will be reprising their roles. Johnson also confirmed that he discussed at length a possible spin-off movie for Hobbs.
“I personally think we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input,” says Johnson regarding the Hobbs spin-off.
Some of the scenes for Fast & Furious 8 are set to shoot in our very own EDSA [Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue]—the busiest highway in the Philippines. So don’t be surprised to see some sexy and fast running cars on the road.
Vin Diesel said, “I just love the Philippines and we all want to shoot Fast & Furious 8 there.” Diesel has a Filipino sister in law. He’s also a huge fan of the colorful Philippine jeepneys. Diesel, who plays Dominic Torreto had revealed that the film will be shot in different places such as New York and the Philippines. After the untimely death of Paul Walker, one wonders how the series will continue without him.
Fast & Furious 8 will be hitting cinemas on April 14, 2017 while the possible Hobbs’ character spin-off is still an interesting concept but fans might wait for a little longer.
