Why Regine Velasquez did not join ‘Sunday Pinasaya’
At first, it was announced that Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez will be joining ‘Sunday Pinasaya’ with other artists such as Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Ai Ai Delas Alas, and Marian Rivera. But in a blink of an eye, she wasn’t a part of it anymore.
According to Velasquez herself, she did not accept the job because she can’t stand the fact that the other mainstays of the previous program, ‘Sunday All-Stars,’ won’t have work. It would be hard for her to be happy on screen while being sad due to the plight of her former colleagues. Therefore, the only Sunday All-Stars holdovers to “Sunday Pinasaya” are Barbie Forteza, Julie Ann San Jose, and Alden Richards.
However, this is not to say that she will be out of the limelight indefinitely. She also revealed that she might star in a nighttime musical variety show that may air by the end of the year at the earliest. Also, she will be one of the judges of Starstruck’s current edition. Aside from that, she is dedicating much time in taking care of her husband Ogie Alcasid and their son Nate.
Velasquez also mentioned that it would be hard for her to take hardcore drama roles as of the moment for she is generally happy with how her life is going. If possible, she would like to handle roles of the comedy-drama or comedy-musical norm. But now that she’s a mom and a husband, she’s more picky with projects so as not to compromise family time.
