Alex Medina doesn’t want to put label; wants to be a great actor
The Medina clan continue to prove their blood in the industry as they played different roles in films that gave them recognition.
The actor Alex Medina is part of the film “Dukot”, a thriller-drama film directed by Paul Soriano starring Enrique Gil, Shaina Magdayao, Ricky Davao, Christopher de Leon and Bing Pimentel.
Medina played the role of Jimbo, member of the kidnapping group together with his co-actors Ricky Davao, his brother Ping Medina, Bangs Garcia and many more.
“Okay sya, magandang pelikula. Kakaiba. It’s a mainstream film. A film is a film and it doesn’t matter if it’s a good or bad”
Alex first seen on screen as an indie actor who played different challenging roles and as his career bloomed, he appeared in ABS-CBN’s teleserye like Pangako Sa’yo and guested on many TV shows.
He experienced working with many actors that he learned from and considered the best in the industry.
On working with Direk Paul, his thoughts
“I love working with Direk Paul. Very straight to the point and yung vision nya for film is changing constantly, progressively. Always glad to be part of his films. And he let us do basically kung ano yung interpretation namin sa character”
On working on TV and film, he said
“Ang Pilipino kasi masyadong mahilig mag label ng things to a point na parang ah indie ka lang you stay there. Film is more meticulate, mas marami kang takes dyan syempre but in TV mabilisan, you need to be quick and snappy”
On new roles as an actor, he expressed
“Sana mas mabigyan ako ng chance to do more I guess hindi yung mga studio type na role. Something different. Maybe an action-comedy. For once, ayaw ko naman ng role na bad guy. Maiba naman”
On giving a chance to work with other actors, he revealed
“Marami pa. Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos. Sobrang dami pa. And I’m honored to work with the best of the best like Cherrie Pie, Christopher de Leon. And ang pinaka finale ko siguro is to work with my dad”
On having a title, he explained
“I don’t believe in titles. You act and you do a good job, you do it as an artist. I don’t really want to put label. I wanna be known as a great actor”
He continued his career as an actor and wanted to challenge more his self. The actor got that looks, charm and artistry that people love.
And as many actors in his generation came in, he became an eye-favorite because of his “cool” side as an actor. He remained humble and continued to dream to be the great actor in his generation.
