Masa highlights drug war
As part of the corporate social responsibility of the National Printing Office, an agency attached to the Presidential Communications Office, headed by Sec. Martin Andanar, Masa introduced to the public as the new official government publication that features Duterte administration’s accomplishment and highlights the government’s anti-drug campaign.
The Communications Secretary, Sec. Andanar, expressed that the government would not be spending big amount of money for Masa.
With 5,000 copies printed, the first edition covered the period August 19 to 31 that will be distributed to rural areas for free.
Road maybe rocky for the Duterte administration because of the criticisms that the administration got especially about the increasing number of extra-judicial killings in the country but the President is tough and will always true to his self and to his promise.
Masa is designed to communicate to the public that will either to applaud him or criticize him.
This will also serve as an extra idea on the latest happenings inside the President’s territory yet purposely to brag the President’s achievements.
Updates on the activities, priorities, programs and accomplishments of the Duterte administration are the features in the “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa” tabloid.
The tabloid also featured stories from the executive department while the centerfold was dedicated to show business gossip.
From headlines to content, showing and highlighting anti-drug campaign, netizens reacted on social media (facebook account of PTV-4).
Franz Joseph Billones said, “Cheap. Are you guys even real journalists?”
Netizen Alora Uy Guerrero expressed: “So this is what journalism looks like now. It’s bad enough that it’s hard to find brilliant stories these days. And now this. You’re propagating stupidity using our own money, Philippine government. Thank you. Thank you very much.”
Andanar said on one of his statements that they are just waiting for the studio in Malacañang to be completed before airing for the supposedly TV show that will be hosted by the President Duterte himself.
And for the people, they appreciated the ideas of Secretary Andanar in innovating and developing the communication aspect of the administration.
