Angelica Panganiban on her role in “The Unmarried Wife”
HAVING been in and out of relationships, people always perceive her as the one with the problem.
Which Angelica Panganiban vehemently disagrees with.
“Akala niyo lang mataray ako, suplada, palengkera. But when it comes to relationships o pagmamahal o nagmamahal hindi nga ako ‘yung dapat nagre-react violently. Kasi ako, iniintindi ko na lang. Sinasarili ko na lang. Kung may napagusapan at napagkasunduan eh, ‘di ‘yun na. Nasasaktan ako. Masaktan na ako sobra-sobra. Alam naman na ‘yan ng lahat. Pero ganon talaga. Nakita niyo na naman kung paano rin akong magmahal.”
In her scenes in “The Unmarried Wife” Angelica had the chance to throw punches and slaps in Dingdong Dantes’ face.
“Dun ko naibuhos lahat. Kaya sabi nga ni Dingdong naranasan niya kung paano ang mabingi dahil talagang inilabas ko na lahat ng todo-todo. Siguro magandang pinaghugutan. Kasi nga hindi naman ako ganon pag galit. Nakatulong lang para mailabas ko sana nga dapat eh nagawa ko sana ‘yun before. Kaya salamat kay direl Maryo J. (delos Reyes).
“Ang pinaghugutan kung sampalan, confro tarion scenes eh bilang si Anne na nabuking ang pagloloko ng asawang so Geoff rume-react ng bonggang-bongga. Mabigat sa dibdib. And more than ‘yung tungkol sapagloloko ng asawa o pagpatol sa iba o pagkakagulo in a marriage, direk Maryo wants to show something na may kinalaman nga sa mga ganitong pangyayari sa bawat tao’ng nasa isang relasyon. Pamilya. Kaibigan. Mga anak. Lahat nai-involve.”
How comfortable is she working with Dingdong and Paulo (Avelino) as the other man.
“Third na ‘ata namin ito ni Dingdong. “Segunda Mano”. “One More Try”. With Pau naman first time. With direk eh, bata pa lang ako nagkatrabaho na kami. Comfortable naman ako with them. Si Paunkasi parang pareho kami ng ugali. May moments na kapag quiet lang kami then ganon lang. Pag tsikahan na tsikahan na. With direk naman, ibibigay mo.lang ang gusto niyang ma-achieve in a scene.”
Direk Maryo made an announcement in their presscon, that bit is about time that she, Dingdong and Paulo be elevated to the next level of being actors. Direk Maryo has already worked with the creme dela creme of the industry. And having been the director of the new breed, he sees Angelica and her leading men being catapulted to geeater heights of the next nest thing as far as leading the pack is concerned.
“Thankful syempre. Coming from someone who has directed the best in the industry it’s an honor to be told na ganito na pala kami. But I am still young gaya ng sabi ni Pau and we still have a lot to learn. That will come at the right time. Kaya everytime there is a new project. Try harder lang ng try harder to give your best.”
Dingdong said that more than him, it is with his wife Marian that Angelics gets to bond.
“Nangako na dadalaw tapos na ang pelikula waley. Busy rin kasi si girl! Shenloved to cook. So ‘yun dapat ang plano.”
It was her birthday. What dis she plan to do.
“Kung pwede ba ang sleeping party. Tonakong ko ma sa froends ko. Paramg walang gusto g sumama, eh. For a change lang. Yun amg gusto ko gawin.”
Still no lovelife?
“Narining niyo naman sabi ni Pau kanina dapat daw kasi kumain ako sa labas. Para lang magka-lalake lalabas ako at gagastos pa. Hindi kasi ako mahilig lumabas eh. May mga nagpaparamdam naman. Pero I know better o, ha! Di ba? Na-try ko na kasinlahat. Ibigay ng buo ang sarili. Magtira para sa sarili. Sa susunod, ano pa kaya?”
If someone from the past comes back, then it would be a lot better? Right? Talks are circulating she’s seeing again a ghost from the past. Would this work if ever?
“Mahirap pa saguton ‘yan. For the now I am the unmarried ex-girlfriend.”
