Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado apologized for mistakenly tweeting about Imelda Marcos’ death. She tweeted, “Our condolences to the Marcos Family. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with Cong. Imelda Romualdez Marcos.”
It became a major trend on twitter, creating confusion towards netizens.
The former Cavite congresswoman deleted her tweet, followed by new tweet, “I would like to apologize for my tweets which I have erased. I received news break message informing the public about Mrs. Marcos.”
In an interview, Lani said that her account was hacked.
Meanwhile, Imelda’s daughter, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, said that her mother is very much alive.
