My Love From The Star off to a great start

GMA Network’s local adaptation of the hit Korean series, My Love From The Star, made its highly-anticipated landing on primetime last Monday, May 29. The series, headlined by Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado and newest Kapuso Heartthrob Gil Cuerva, has beaten its rival program and even dominated social media, nationwide and worldwide.

The show also proved to be one worth waiting for as it made waves on social media and topped nationwide trends and second on worldwide trends upon its premiere.

Netizens poured their praises and lauded the show’s outstanding and already kilig-filled pilot episode. @studentnetizon on Twitter said “The remake lived up to my expectations! It really has its Filipino feel in it grabe i crave for more episodes #MyLoveFromTheStarPH”.

In the story, Matteo Domingo’s (Gil) real identity as an alien was already shown when his spaceship crash-landed years ago during the Spanish regime. Steffi Chavez (Jennylyn) was also seen as a popular and sought-after actress who often gets bashed for her careless posts on social media. The two of them crosses paths when they meet at the elevator of the building they both live at. Steffi, with her sky-high ego, thought Matteo was a stalker and started calling him names, only to find out that they were actually neighbours. Once Steffi attends her classes after being gone for so long, she was shocked to see that Matteo is her professor.
