
The magic in Segundo Matias’ Moymoy Lulumboy
SMX CONVENTION CENTER, MOA–Award-winning author Segundo Matias Jr. launched the fourth installment of Moymoy Lulumboy series titled Mga Dulot ng Digmaan, September 16.
Matias narrated how his childhood was like by putting it through magical words. The series pictured all his experiences growing up.
His creatives put on:
“I grew up listening to stories about aswang, mananaggal, kapre, duwende, and many others.
“As a writer, the stories continued to tickle my imagination. I have been continuously amazed by their magical word.
“And because I grew up in the province, the entire neighborhood was my playground.”
Seen in the book launch were the master Ricky Lee whom Matias dedicated his book and actress Chanda Romero who got her book signed.

The illustrator of his book Jomike Tejido supported Matias. The two minds shared that it was a smooth collaboration. Tejido added that Matias allowed him to use and express his creative freedom.

Also, Tejido praised Matias for creating magic and for describing the characters well. He translated Matias’ imagination in an appealing images.
As told by Matias, Mga Dulot ng Digmaan pictured Moymoy Lulumboy and his twin brother Alangkaw finally retrieving all the golds of life that the evil Buhawan stole. A story of strength, belief, faith, loss, and secrets.
The three books Ang Batang Aswang, Ang Nawawalang Birtud, and Ang Paghahanap Kay Inay received positive reviews and praised Matias for his great, magical works.
Available in leading bookstores nationwide, Mga Dulot ng Digmaan is illustrated by Jomike Tejido and edited by Edith Garcia, Hazel Daga-ang, and Aiko Clarizza Buduan-Salazar.
