Chanel Morales on TV5’s reprogramming: Kailangang i-build ko uli ang name ko

Sep 22, 2017

Chanel Morales is proud that she is now under the management of ALV Talent Circuit owned by esteemed talent manager Arnold Vegafria.

With her new talent management company, she believes she’s in good hands.

Chanel’s career began when she was discovered in “Artista Academy,” TV 5’s artista search. She did several shows in the Kapatid network including the kiligserye “Wattpad Presents.”

As a matter of fact, her team up with Akihiro Blanco has already earned a solid following.

When TV 5 had its reprogramming and focused on sports shows, Chanel was one of those displaced talents.

“I felt sad. Siyempre, para bang I’m starting all over again. Starting from scratch, in a way, na kailangang i-build ko uli ang name ko. Pero, I know na iyong fans ko naman, nandiyan lang naman sila kung kailangan ko sila.”

“Sa bagong direksyon naman ng TV5, ganoon naman talaga ang showbiz, may mga unexpected na nangyayari, so you have to live with it at gawin mo lang kung ano iyong dapat mong gawin,” she added.

She also believes that her admission of having Carl Guevara as a boyfriend won’t affect her career.

“Ever since naman, vocal ako about it. As long na hindi siya nakakaapekto sa work, at nasa work ko ang focus, I don’t have to worry about anything,” she pointed out.

Although, more identified with Akihiro as her love team partner, it’s Carl who won her heart.

“Unexpected din iyong nangyari. Actually, it just happened. Nagustuhan niya ako, nagustuhan ko rin siya,” she told PSR.

“I don’t mind having a lovelife or anything naman. Ang inspirasyon ko pa rin naman is not my lovelife or whatever kundi iyong family ko at sarili ko, kasi sila iyong nandoon sa akin all the time,” she added.

Chanel is ecstatic over her biggest break in “The Debutantes” where she is one of the title rolers.

“First movie ko kasi siya sa Regal as a Regal baby, so ganoon siya ka-significant sa akin,” she remarked.

She also underwent training prior to the shoot of the movie.

“Nag-training ako for my role kasi competitive swimmer ako rito. Nag-train ako 3 times a week under Bert Lozada, so nag-effort talaga. First time ko ring nag-shoot na may mga nangyaring strange sa set tulad nang may hinihimatay, na parang may ibang elements sa lugar, na feeling mo na may something spooky going on, kahit hindi ako totally naniniwala roon,” she shared.

She also dismissed speculations of rivalry with her co-stars.

“Masaya silang kasama sa set dahil nag-uusap kami at hindi nauubusan ng kuwento. Wala ring special treatment. Equal po ang treatment sa amin. Sa set, nagbo-bonding po kami at hindi kami nagko-compete sa isa’t isa,” she elucidated.

She also said that her relationship with her boyfriend Carl is going strong everyday.

“In terms of communication, nag-uusap kami ,nagte-text. Nagsusuportahan kami pero hindi kami nagko-compete kung may project ang isa’t-isa. Nagkakatampuhan din, pero ako naman kaya ko ring mag-forgive dahil hindi naman ako perpektong tao. So far naman, wala pa naman kaming matinding naging away,” she concluded.

She also does not mind to be teamed anew with Akihiro Blanco, her original love team partner, especially that they are now both contract artists of Regal Entertainment.

“The Debutantes” revolves around Kate (Sue Ramirez), a strange and friendless girl who wants to be friends with the popular girls in school – Lara (Miles Ocampo), Jenny (Jane de Leon), Candice (Michelle Vito) and Shayne (Chanel Morales).

Kate has one confidant, Wenah, her chilhood friend. Kate starts having strange dreams about the girls dying. Kate tries to warn the girls in order to save them, but they won’t listen to her, thus, putting their very lives at risk.
