Miles hopes to play “kontrabida” roles
Miles Ocampo has recently graduated from Plaridel awardee Ricky Lee’s screenwriting workshop.
Kapamilya actress said that there was no formal rite but the celebration was just as meaningful.
“Kami lang ang bumuo at iyon lang mga ka-batch mates ko ang gumawa ng program,” she said.
Included in her batch are acclaimed and budding filmmakers who already made their full-length features like Kanakan Balintagos (formerly Aureaus Solito of Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros and Esprit de Corps), Jay Abello (Red, Flotsam), Dwein Baltazar (Mamay Umeng), Maricel Cariaga (Pitong Kabang Palay), Kiri Dalena (The Guerilla is a Poet), Keith Sicat (Women of the Ruins), Giancarlo Abrahan (Dagitab), Gino Santos (The Animals, #Y), Carlo Enciso Catu (Ari: My Life with a King) and even prolific actress and storyteller Bela Padilla.

Although, she’s considered a greenhorn in her batch, she said that she did not feel intimidated at all.
Wala pong ganoon. Lahat kami natututo at willing niyang turuan,” she pointed out.
Miles is one of the title rolers in the millennial horror movie “The Debutantes” which is currently drawing crowds at the tills.
In the movie, she plays the role of a kindhearted schoolmate and friend to Sue Ramirez, a bully victim.
According to Miles, she has never portrayed any mean role in her entire acting career.
She however, clarified that she’s not choosy when it comes to accepting her roles, whether it is on television or in the movies.
PSR was able to get her reaction on social media influencer Marlou Arizala’s transformation into
Xander Ford and the actress had this to say.
Kung doon po lumalabas ang confidence niya, then, he has the right to do it and go lang po,” she stressed.
She iterated also that she has nothing against people who undergo cosmetic surgery or beauty enhancement especially in showbusiness.
She also does not discount the possibility of working with him especially that Xander is vocal that he wants to work with her as a love team partner.
The Debutantes is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
