“Lucky,” a word that describes Shy Carlos

Oct 10, 2017

For Viva Princess Shy Carlos, she considers herself lucky for being paired with millennial star Empoy Marquez in the movie “The Barker.”

Shy however, dismissed that Viva is playing favourites with its stars.

“Lahat naman po kami nabibigyan ng projects like Yassi and Ate Anne. Lahat po kami inaalagaan ng Viva,” she pointed out.

She further added that doing comedy is not new to her.

It’s not also her first time to work with Empoy in a project.

She admitted though, that this is her first to do an action-comedy in a movie.

“Wala po akong masyadong action scenes dito. It’s more of Empoy ang may action scenes. Pero may isang short scene lang na hindi naman kailangan ng training,” she said.

“Excited din ako dahil first ko ang ganitong genre sa movies,” she added.

In their reunion outing, she said that Empoy has not changed a bit.

She’s also aware that after Kita-Kita’s box office success, Empoy became a favorite leading man among her peers.

She said that she had no qualms in doing kissing scenes with Empoy in the movie.

After doing fantasy, horror, drama and comedy, she said that she has not found her niche yet.

“Happy ako kahit sa anong genre. Iniikot ko po silang lahat, and so far, lahat sila nae-enjoy ko pero isa talaga sa pinakagusto ko ay comedy din,” she concluded.

Aside from Empoy, “The Barker” also stars Jeric Raval, Wilma Doesn’t, Ronnie Lazaro, Atak Arana, Janice Jurado, “Greatest Love” power couple Sylvia Sanchez and Nonie Buencamino, Jemina Sy and Raffy Reyes.
