‘Solo Para Adultos’ undresses tonight at Music Museum

Oct 20, 2017

MUSIC MUSEUM–Tonight, October 20, the newest and original Filipino three-act, sex-comedy play—‘Solo Para Adultos’ penned by three brilliant playwrights—Bong Ramos, AJ Rollon and James Golla will premiere.

‘SOLO PARA ADULTOS’ or ‘SPA’ for short; is a story about love, sex, hope, dreams and vengeance.

In a world where lies and lust have corrupted the minds of people—will there be real love between convoluted individuals and relationships?

Veronica Fox, JV San Miguel and Alfred are three characters that are all victims of a cruel world and the creative minds of the authors behind a film titled ‘Solo Para Adultos’ (‘For Adults Only’ in English).

Aprilyn ‘Congratulations’ Gustillo of ‘WOWOWEE’ fame is Veronica Fox, a female porn star who comes back to her native land to make a meaningful pornographic film. She gets reunited with her long-lost lover—Alfred played by Vivo Ouano, a Starstruck alumnus, but their past turns out to be complicated when a third party is involved—a matinee actor—JV San Miguel which will be breathed by Mr. Gay World 2017—John Fernandez Raspado.

After years of separation from each other—both Veronica and the man she once loved (who is now a masseur) get intimate with each other. More and more challenges surface as they work together in a film project.img_5482

Will Veronica and Alfred’s love for each other blossom this time and find a happy ending or will it remain just a dream?

The production gathered together a good mix of theater, film and television artists to compose the cast of this new straight and moving play. Also in the cast are two other promising talents—Tori Garcia, a Japanese-Filipino singer-actress from Singapore and a former host of ‘Wowowin’ with Andres Vasquez, a film, TV and theater actor as well as a commercial and print ad model.

The straight play is mounted by Red Lantern Production which had its premiere production—a rap-and-roll musical—‘Kabesang Tales’ that starred John Arcilla of the ‘Heneral Luna’ fame. It is considered to be a social commentary form of art piece treated in the most intricate and layered in storytelling, with the main narrative containing fully-rendered micro-stories of the characters.

Perhaps, ‘SPA’ is inspired from the works of Pedro Almodóvar, a Spanish Oscar-winning director and screenwriter known for films like ‘All About My Mother,’ ‘Talk to Her,’ ‘Bad Education,’ ‘Volver’ and ‘I’m So Excited.’
