Not a big gamble–Bossing describes his MMFF entry
For master comedian Vic Sotto, doing “Meant To Beh” is not a big gamble.
“I don’t think it’s a malaking gamble. It’s a family movie. It’s rated GP. Siyempre, it’s Christmas at alam naman nating meant for the entire family iyan. As they say, family is important, trabaho is important, but family is important(er),” he said.
I know, a lot of moviegoers will definitely like it because we have a good cast, a good script and good actors,” he added.
He also said that the movie is one of the closest to his heart.
“Definitely, it’s one of the closest to my heart. May pitik siya sa aking puso dahil tinatalakay niya ang relasyon at usapang pamilya, ng mag-asawa at tatay at mga anak, so doon pa lang, marami na ang makaka-relate,” he pointed out.
He also cited his reason why he did not field a fantasy movie or another installment of Enteng Kabisote in this year’s MMFF.
“I think, it’s about time to move on and to level up. To present something different, something more realistic, something more relevant and siyempre for me, pag Christmas, una kong naiisip ang pamilya.
He however clarified that he’s not leaving the fantasy genre.
Kumbaga, we just decided to move out of our comfort zone just to try something different yet entertaining.
He’s also elated to be united with Dawn Zulueta, his leading lady in the TV series “Okay Ka, Fairy Ko” thirty years ago.
“She’s one of the premier actresses that we have and siyempre, na-miss ko rin ang pakikipagtrabaho sa kanya,” he said.
He’s all praises also to the young members of the cast.
“First shooting day pa lang very comfortable na kami with one another.
I beg to disagree dahil they mean business. They’re professional. They come on time and prepared sa set,” he shared.
He knows what he’s doing. He’s quite conscious already of what acting is all about. Hindi nahirapan si Direk Chris to guide him,” he added.
“Meant To Beh,” an official entry to the 2017 MMFF, is a family-oriented and feel-good comedy produced by Octoarts Films, M-Zet Productions and APT Productions and directed by acclaimed director Chris Martinez.
Set to open on December 25 (Christmas Day), it also boasts a stellar cast which includes the exciting pairs of Gabbi Garcia and Ruru Madrid and Sue Ramirez and JC Santos. Also in the cast are Andrea Torres, Daniel Matsunaga and Eat Bulaga wonder boy Baby Baste.
