Why it takes so long for Derek Ramsay to get married
Thankful si Derek Ramsay dahil pagkatapos ng ilang taon, nakabalik na siya sa Kapamilya network.
Leading man siya ni Bea Alonzo sa pelikulang “Kasal” ng Star Cinema na idinirehe ni Ruel Bayani.
“I’m taking baby steps, soaking all the excitement and the blessings that I’ve been given.
“My contract with the other network already expired. Here I am doing a movie with Star Cinema. I have another movie lined up. I am very happy. It’s a rollercoaster ride. I always say naman that ABS made me for who I am and made me realize the talent that I have,” sey niya.
Hopefully, gusto rin niya makagawa ng teleserye sa Dos.
“Sana, I’ll have a soap with Bea,” pakli niya.
Ayon pa kay Derek, na-miss din niyang makatrabaho si Bea, na huli niyang nakasama sa pelikulang “And I Love You So,” in 2009.
Happy din si Derek sa estado ng kanyang relasyon sa non-showbiz girlfriend na si Joanne Villablanca na isang commercial model at fitness buff.
Nilinaw naman niya ang tsikang siya raw ang tipong hindi naniniwala sa kasal.
“There’s a lot of heresay that I don’t believe in marriage, that’s not true. I strongly do. My parents have been happily married for 40 years plus. I have the perfect example to follow. Why it’s taking me so long because I really want to be sure. There’s no option of jumping into that, trying to be in a rush,” paliwanag niya.
Dagdag pa niya, ang kasal ay isang bagay na sagrado sa kanya at pinaghahandaan.
“In my opinion, you should take your time. What’s the rush if you should be spending the rest of your life together?
“You know, the ceremony, all of that sometimes, people fall in love that specific day but kasal or marriage is not that specific day, it’s the rest of your life,” malaman niyang sagot.
“And a lot of people make a mistake you know, women dream about it and beautiful girls walk down the aisle, they fall in love into that whole concept of a wedding and they jump into that and that could be dangerous.
“You know, kasal is for the rest of your life, you know, I think it would be a good stepping stone, if you’re given the opportunity into building a strong marriage,” esplika niya.
Feeling din niya na ang relationship niya sa dyowa ang pinakaseryoso na na hahantong sa kasal.
Isang single mom si Joanne at may 10-year old daughter na si Sophie.
Halos anak na ang turing sa anak ng girlfriend.
Katunayan, may sariling room ito sa bahay ni Derek na mismong ang actor ang nag-design.
Nakikita raw niya na hindi na aabot pa ng limang taon bago sila magpakasal ni Joanne.
“Why would I be in this relationship if I didn’t, di ba?” hirit niya.
“You clearly see that I share everything with her, and how much I adore and love her daughter, so it would be a complete waste of time.
“And habang tumatanda ka, your time gets shorter, so it would be a complete waste of time to be committed to somebody without looking at your future together.
“So most definitely, it will happen in the next three to five years,” pagwawakas niya.
Papel ni Waldo, nagbabalik na ex ni Lia (Bea) ang role ni Derek sa “Kasal.”
Bukod kay Bea, kasama rin sa cast si Paulo Avelino.
Nasa supporting cast naman sina Christopher de Leon, Cherie Gil, Ricky Davao, Ces Quesada, Celeste Legaspi, Chris Vilonco, Kylie Versoza, Vin Abrenica, Bobby Andrews, Cai Cortez at JC Alcantara.
