Tony Labrusca intimidated by ‘ML’ co-star Eddie Garcia

Jul 27, 2018

“I play a sheltered teenage boy who experiences Martial Law for the first time,” paglalarawan niya.

“I’m a new actor so I prepared for it by going through the script with my director and really evaluating every scene. He was always there for me, guiding me and that’s how I prepared. We had a symbiotic relationship kasi I can’t do the scenes without his guidance, obviously, I was his main actor so we really helped each other out. I was just very blessed that he chose a new actor like me,” aniya.

As a millennial, we really don’t know that much because we didn’t experience it first hand and I can’t make any personal judgment about it because that would really be inappropriate since it’s not really my time,” paliwanag niya.

“My realization is now you just have keep an open mind. I’m not really a political person but I think after watching the movie, it’s just good to do be very aware of your surroundings. I think, that’s the biggest thing. More than people wanting to take or choose sides, or be really aggressive or be inactive, I think it says about knowing your surroundings, being aware and just educating yourself,” esplika niya.

“I don’t think it’s not just important for them to just know about Martial Law. It’s just important for them to know facts to educate themselves because in our age, in the millennial age, or in the Generation Z, I think it’s important to know your facts because nowadays, we have such a thing as social media. It’s a very powerful force that has already taken over the world, and a lot of times, what it says in social media is not the truth, that’s why I’m encouraging people of my age, to really know their facts, know their surroundings, what’s going on in their country, know what’s going on in powerful parts of the world like the West, you know what I mean. So,I think people should just focus on their the facts, whatever their truths because that’s something that’s gonna affect them. That’s something I have learned now,” deklara niya.

“Working with Tito Eddie is really an honor. He’s the man, he’s the legend. It was really humbling experience and I really felt intimidated, but at the same time, I learned a lot,” pagbabahagi niya.

“I love it. I love it so much. It’s a completely different vibe. I’m sure like all actors or most actors who go through indie, they enjoy it. I wanna encourage all actors out there or if you are an aspiring actor at focused ka lang sa mainstream, and you think that the only way to make is through the mainstream, it’s very important that you give indie a shot and you’ll realize a whole new respect for the art,” bulalas niya.

“I think my job as a new actor is not to be picky with my roles. I think if I really care about my craft, I’ll just choose the scripts that would be appropriate for me, or the scripts that I would be passionate about, but it’s good also to stay open to the scripts that you are offered to. I think right now, I need to humble myself and just continue learning. I don’t think it’s not about wanting to be in a mainstream or wanting to be in indie. It’s wanting to excel in your craft,” ani Tony.
