PSRstudios sets to conclude its first film, ‘Two Strings Down’ in days
After the shooting days in Hong Kong and Macao, PSRstudios’ first film ‘Two Strings Down’ is set to conclude in the coming days starring Miguel Villasis, JD dela Cruz and CK David. As of press time, the film has been going to various locations in the Philippines and will be camping in the next couple of days which some critical sequences would be shot.
“We will be shooting major scenes. With this, the main part of the movie will be completed,” says Roy Rebosada, the director of the film who is also known for a meticulous approach in cinematography.
Expressing his excitement, the newbie actor Miguel Villasis for his part narrates, “we have, at a certain extent been jet-setter traveling from Philippines to Hong Kong to Macao and in quite a few places here in the Philippines.
“The many sleepless nights, the workshops, the immersion and all the things we have done to prepare for the role, finally this is it! The benefits of hard work. The fruit of our labor so to speak.”
“My tongue has fully grasped and grinned in speaking Tagalog. I miss my Mandarin but it’s really fun. I had a nice time here in the Philippines – with co-actors and the crew. The acting experience is very rewarding.
JD adds,
“On top of that, I’m able to develop a special bonding with everyone and for me, this is what I will cherish most.”
“Acting with Miguel and JD are of two different experiences. With JD, it’s more of a finesse acts because he is too prim and proper. Perhaps, it is because that he is more of a Chinese now than a Filipino so there are cultural manifestation. But of course, I cannot change myself as the ‘kalog’ type. I always tease him.
“With Miguel, it is differently unique. Our relationship is really comfortable since he has almost been part of our home. Bakit ba naman hindi e, mas madalas na yata s’ya sa bahay namin kesa sa bahay nila.
CK, a sophomore student from state university further narrates,
But seriously, Miguel has a very promising future in acting. He is bankable. He is acting like as if he is off-screen. Very natural. But overall, we have developed a chemistry in which I think would allow us to all grow together.”
‘Two Strings Down’ is a debut film of PSRstudios, an arm of Philippine Showbiz Republic (PSR.ph) in film and music. It is being spearheaded by Marla David, who primarily wrote the script. She is the publisher of PSR.
“To me, it is very exciting to come up with a short film in which, who knows, we may be able to get through some festivals that may recognize our passion. Equally tiring though but mind you, it is really fulfilling. This is our guinea pig but like as a mother, this effort is like our first born. We learn as we go along the way. It is fun because, the characters are a children to me. Roy, our director is somebody I have worked with many times in different efforts. No pressure. It is all fun.
Marla proudly gests,
That’s why I am confident that ‘Two Strings Down’ will leave a mark in the heart of viewers in the manner that it has left a mark in our hearts.”
