Jessy Mendiola swims with whale shark
Every tattoo tells a story. For ‘TOL leading lady Jessy Mendiola, her body ink is more of telling her first time moment. Not as deep as water, but as breathtaking as wave, the feeling of seeing “whale shark” for the first time.
Kapamilya actress had fun, real moments with boyfriend Luis Manzano during her stay at Tubbataha, situated in a remote area of the Sulu Sea, south-east of Puerto Princesa in Palawan.
It brought her to tears, giving her the freedom and strength to have a tattoo (blue whale shark, right hand), “First time kong makakita ng whale shark. Once in a lifetime ‘yung makakita ka ng whale shark. Sobrang meaningful nung moment na ‘yun. Naiyak ako. Dati kasi takot talaga ako sa dagat. Nung nakita ko ‘yung whale shark, ang sarap sa feeling.”
Jessy posted her whale shark photos on instagram. It was a come true visiting Tubbataha with Luis.
Tubbataha is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the best places in the country for incredible big fish action. Whale sharks are often spotted here.
“Dati takot ako sa dagat” now becomes a love and dedication to nature. With the help of her boyfriend, she learns to embrace life and the beauty of it. Her interaction with nature helped her overcoming her depression.
