Rachel Alejandro gives life to Quezon’s wife

May 27, 2019

“I’m glad na there’s a lot of materials available online. I also read this book, Aurora: Her Love and Her Works, then I had to base rin iyong character based on the accounts of people who had personal encounters with her. Iyong pagkakakilala nila sa kanya as a person, how she’s as a person na siyang binuo ko for myself,” kuwento niya.

“Empowered woman kasi siya from the beginning. I found out na even before she became first lady , she already fought for the rights of women to be able to vote. While she’s first lady, she also dedicated her life to public service. Para siyang si Mother Theresa. She’s also very active sa  Philippine National Red Cross where she became the first Chairperson. That’s why she’s called the Mother of Philippine National Red Cross,” pahayag niya.

“It’s so timely and relevant, especially now that the world is so watak-watak and there’s so much division. There’s so much fighting and then comes this movie about love and how love triumphs over all and against all odds. Para bang after all, after this election and all division, people na nagkakagalit sa facebook o nag-u-unfriendan na, this is one instance na nagkaisa talaga ang country natin na bakit ba tayo makikialam diyan, but we have to because it’s the right thing to do,” paliwanag niya.

“I think, you should not stop exploring in finding ways on how to improve your craft more. There’s nothing wrong with having an idol and emulating or copying a voice icon, pero ultimately kailangang hanapin mo ang sarili mo.
