Janica Reloxe’s Mother’s Day song receives positive reviews
Beautiful things come out of pressure. We hear that a lot when challenges like the ones from this pandemic seem too much to bear. Such is the case for 23-year old freelance model and singer Janica Reloxe who found beauty in her struggles.
Janica is more than just the pretty face splashed all over print ads and TV commercials. Recently, she also had a memorable appearance in ABS-CBN’s I Can See Your Voice. The multislashie surprised everyone with her singing prowess. She discovered this gift at around seven or eight years old while growing up in a family of performers.
The love for singing eventually led doll-faced Janica to explore dance and become part of a cheering squad while still in school. Her discipline and value for hard work were developed through her active efforts to hone her craft. “When I performed in front of the school crowd for the very first time, I felt all the jitters but was really happy. That’s when I realized I would love to take this further,” she recalled her first time onstage.
Janica did take things to the next level as she now pursues a singing career. Inspired by her favorite singer Moira dela Torra, her mom, and “Tita Lolas,” the Filipina-Australian artist released her debut song “Sa’yo, Ina” yesterday, Mother’s Day. She cannot help but rave about how supportive her family has been from the very start.
“The song aims to pay tribute to my mother and other women in my life who showed their maternal love for me,” Janica said. She explained the powerful drive she has within to make them feel proud. At the same time, Janica wishes to provide the best to her family given what she can do. Proof to that, while the pandemic has made things difficult as physical events and live gigs were put to a halt, she did not cower and instead powered through the challenges head-on.
“When the pandemic started, the family experienced a major blow as I was the breadwinner. My freelance modeling and singing engagements were all gone in a snap,” Janica narrated the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on their household.
She then added, “Aside from the help we received from our relatives, I’m glad I found online livestreaming as a source of income during those days.” She emphasized how her love for her family kept her motivated at finding solutions.
“As a breadwinner, I am willing to take on challenges life throws at me as long as I can give the best for my family. I would do everything even if it means being the padre de familia,” Janica strongly stated in her ICSYV interview. The rising star shows us she is not only pursuing her art, but more importantly, following her heart.
