‘My Father, Myself’ lead star Jake Cuenca reacts to possible ‘Best Actor’ award
When the teaser for Metro Manila Film Fest (MMFF) 2022 entry My Father, Myself was released on November 4, netizens took to social media to share their thoughts.
The Joel Lamangan film’s teaser received backlash and support from online world, making it as one of the most-talked entries this year.

In the teaser, lead stars Jake Cuenca and Sean De Guzman already made an impact with their crying, intimate scenes. Netizens commented, “Pang-Best Actor si Jake. Ang husay.”
During media conference at Novotel Manila in Cubao, members of the media and Lamangan praised Jake’s acting. Dimples Romana, Tiffany Grey, and lead actor Sean De Guzman were also present at the presscon.

Jake reacted to Lamangan, “Ako, I take that with the highest honor talaga, kasi ako kay direk Joel, he’s someone I really looked-up to, na talagang inirerespeto ko sa industriya.
Jake added, “So for me, talagang this is something I am very-very proud of, kasi napakalaking challenge for all of us.
“Kasi it was worth it, worth the effort. It is worth going outside your comfort zone, doing things na hindi mo normal na ginagawa sa totoong buhay.”

BEST ACTOR TROPHY
Can Jake bring home the Best Actor trophy? The My Father, Myself lead actor tearfully thanked the filmmaker.

I wasn’t ready to work yet.
“Pero kasi, rather than shy away from it, rather than matakot, buong puso ko siyang tinanggap. And it’s exactly what I needed in my life at that time.
So, maraming-maraming salamat po,” he ended.
