New Year, New Questions To Reflect On from Celebrity Life Coach Myke Celis
Part of welcoming the new year is making resolutions. It has been a tradition through the years to come up with ways and means to improve one’s self year after year.
But in order to come up with clear and feasible new year resolutions for 2023, one must be guided accordingly by one’s core values and personal truth.
“Oftentimes we base our new year’s resolutions on the things that have not worked out for us in the past e.g. weight management, becoming more financially secure etc.. However, truth be told, we can also anchor them on the things that ring true to us, not necessarily stemming from a previous lesson from the year that was,” says award winning celebrity life coach and international best selling author, Myke Celis.
Known for his phenomenal global coaching platform, #bestmeever, Coach Myke shares some of the questions people can reflect on as they come up with their own new year’s resolutions.
“The first question to ask ourselves is that: What is it that will make me genuinely happy that’s long lasting? Remember, once you anchor yourself on joy that’s not superficial, you are able to improve yourself long after the new year has come to pass.
“Another question to ask ourselves is what is it that I have been putting on hold for the longest time that I can start with now? Trust me on this, there’s no perfect timing. You create the perfect situation for yourself. It is best to inquire within to realize what has been holding you back and how you can overcome that. It’s now or never.
“And lastly, what can help me commit to my resolutions better? At the end of the day you can have so many resolutions on your list, half of which you may be half-hearted about. It is best to always assess your new year’s resolutions accordingly if they’re in alignment with your personal values and long term goals or not. That saves you from focusing too much on others that you have just written for the sake of. When it comes to new year’s resolutions, actions speak louder than words,” the celebrity life coach says.
Coach Myke ends with this empowering reminder: “You don’t really have to wait for the new year to start all over again. You can just start transitioning into the person you’re meant to be by reflecting on these questions and allowing yourself to go and grow at your own pace, in your own space, any time you’re ready. The new you was never based on just the celebration of the new year to begin with.”
