Entertainment group visits San Pablo City mayor, Child Haus in Manila

Multi-term Mayor Vicente Amante of San Pablo City, Laguna recently swore into office nine seasoned showbiz journos from The Entertainment Arts & Media (TEAM) headed by its president, Nonie Nicasio.

Other officers are Anne Venancio, vice president; Maridol Ranoa-Bismark, secretary; Maryo Labad, assistant secretary; Obette Serrano, treasurer; Noel Benesisto Orsal, assistant treasurer; Wendell Alvarez, auditor; Pilar Mateo and Danny Vibas, PROs. 

Members are Cesar Ian Batingal, Boy Borja, Roland Lerum, Jhay Orencia, Aldrin Cacayan, Marialuz Candaba, Adjes Carreon, Nimfa Chua, Sany Chua, Audie See, and Atorni Ton.

The mayor’s wife, former singer-actress Gem Castillo-Amante, witnessed the induction at the new city hall of the “City of Seven Lakes.” 

Nicasio said that TEAM is aware of Amante’s accomplishments and awards since he became chief executive of the city in 1992.

In 2007, the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. named him Outstanding City Mayor in the Field of Social Welfare and Development.

Since 1993, under Amante’s leadership, San Pablo City has been chosen Outstanding Local Government Unit (City Level), a presidential award under a program implemented by the National Economic and Development Council, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Health.

Former president Fidel V. Ramos recognized Amante as a Hall of Famer. He was considered by the late senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani for nomination to the United Nations Population Development Program’s Rafael Salas Awards.  

Amante’s wife, fondly called  “Mayora,” has also been receiving recognition as private citizen.

Mayor Amante has given free pre-school, elementary, and high school education to his constituents.

TEAM organized an outreach program at Child Haus on Sunday.
