Showbiz, business and high-society personalities gather for the launch of Japanese cosmetic acupuncture in the Philippines
There is no doubt that the beauty industry is a big business in the Philippines. It was a Sunday night but showbiz, business and socialites gather together for the launch of Japanese cosmetic acupuncture in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
Spotted were teen dance heartthrob-turned K-Pop singer Julian Trono, brand ambassador for Teceruma Spa and Salon; newly crowned Mr. International 2014 Neil Perez, Feng Shui expert Maritess Allen, medical doctors led by Dr. Hernando Delizo of Clinica Manila, and big names from travel and business clubs.
But the center of the celebration is Cocoro Nakahara, the esteemed Japanese acupuncture expert who owns and operates Cocona Medical Spa in Japan. He’s a licensed radiologist, judo therapist, moxibustionist (practitioners of massage, finger pressure, acupuncture and (moxicauterization), and also licensed in Anma-Massage-Acupressure. He has received his acupuncture and moxibustion license in Japan and has studied extensively with Japanese masters since he was 10 years old from his father who was also a licensed acupuncturist.
In the Philipppines, Nakahara partnered with Teceruma Spa and Salon to personally and exclusively render his acupuncture services.
For the past several years, Tecurama proprietor Tess Herbst has traveled extensively with her businessman husband John, seeking out the best spa services from around the world. John’s business travels have taken them to Fiji, Bali, China, Vietnam, Brazil, USA, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Romania, Czech Republic, Turkey, Mexico, Italy, Australia, Germany, England, Switzerland, Japan, and a host of other exotic places. Tess custom tailors the best global spa therapies for the husband and wife retirement business which is Teceruma.
Thus, when she heard of acupuncture for cosmetic purposes and health benefits, she went to Japan and experienced it herself.
“It was extremely difficult to schedule an appointment with Nakahara since he’s very in demand in Japan and has a lot of clients. But I was glad to have had the chance to do so. Right after my facial acupuncture session, I felt an instant relief. At the time, I knew I should bring this in the Philippines so that my fellow Filipinos can also experience the wonders of cosmetic acupuncture,” Tess said.
Tess decided to partner with Nakahara and flew him to the Philippines so that others can also benefit from cosmetic acupuncture. Obviously, it’s a treatment that involves using acupuncture to improve skin and fight the aging process. Sometimes referred to as an “acupuncture facelift” or “facial rejuvenation,” cosmetic acupuncture is often used as an alternative to surgical facelifts and other conventional procedures said to reverse signs of aging in the skin.
