Andre Paras ideally balances work, school and other activities; Narrates his closeness with sibling Kobe, “I’m always the first person he talks to because we’re very close to each other.”

Masaya si Andre Paras para sa younger brother niyang si Kobe Paras dahil unti-unti ay nagiging promising ang pinagsisikapang basketball career nito sa U.S. Napag-uusapan na nga roon ang husay nito sa nasabing sports.
“Of course, I’m very proud of him,” sabi nga ng Kapuso young actor nang makausap ng Philippine Showbiz Republic (PSR) sa ‘Sunday All Stars’.
“It’s his dream talaga na maging player po.
“And knowing that ginagawa niya lahat para mag-improve, it makes me happy. Kasi kahit malayo po siya sa amin… he’s always there communicating with us.
“He’s letting us know what’s happening to him. And it’s really touching kasi I’m always the first person he talks to kasi we’re very close to each other.”
Nagba-basketball din si Andre. Dati siyang miyembro ng UP Maroons team. At ngayon ay nasa koponan naman siya ng San Beda College kung saan siya kasalukuyang kumukuha siya ng Marketing course.
“It’s really great kasi I’m able to focus with my studies. Kasi I really wanna finish school.
“Also, my passion kasi is also school, basketball, and showbiz po. And I’m really thankful that at this age po, I was able to balance it with also the help of people po.
‘The Half Sisters’, ‘Sunday All Stars’, MTV and his other activities
“Now, aside from my regular shows na ‘The Half Sisters’ and ‘Sunday All Stars’, I also do MTV.
“And then I go to gym or just work on basketball nga also. Or if I have time, I spend time with my family kasi importante rin ‘yon sa akin.”
Sa setado ng career niya ngayon, ano ang madalas na nasasabi sa kanya ng kanyang dad na si Benjie Paras?
“He gives advice na… just keep your head up and just enjoy what you’re doing.
“And that’s the greatest advice that has been said by so many people. Just stick to being happy kasi that’s the only time you will fall in love with what you’re doing.”
Ikinatutuwa rin ni Andre na muli ay na-extend na naman ang ‘The Half Sisters’ kung saan marami ang sumusubaybay sa nabuong tandem nila rito ni Barbie Forteza.
“I’m really happy. Kasi it’s my first show and I’m able to work with great actors and actresses.
“Ang dami ko pong natutunan. And I’m really happy talaga na whatever we do there… kung ano po ‘yong ibinibigay sa amin ng network, we’re doing our best na magkaroon ng magandang show for everybody.
“It’s nice kasi the story is great na everyone can relate. Iyon naman ang important, e.
“Once you’re portraying a character, ‘yong performance mo naman ang habol ng mga tao. And I’m very thankful nga na nagagawa po namin nang maayos ang trabaho namin.”
On Barbie Forteza
Magaya kaya sila ni Barbie sa ibang nagiging screen partners na nagkakagustuhan din sa totohanan?
“We’ll never know. Pero we’re thankful sa supporters namin.
“We won’t do anything to make them sad or mad. Kasi we’re always here for them.”
Parang wala muna nga sa isip niya ngayon ang panliligaw o paggi-girlfriend?
“Well of course, it’s important talaga to focus. And as a role model nga, ang kailangan talaga to be successful is to focus in school, studies, and whatever you love doing.
“Kasi it will come naman, e. Only time can tell. And do’n po ako naniniwala.”
