Summer is here and so the heat is on!
This is the time of the year that even the unbearable temperature can’t beat all the fun things to do underneath the sun shiny sky. Summer spells long vacation, happy times at the beach or road trips to the best summer places here and abroad.
We asked some celebrities about their dream summer vacation and their unforgettable getaway in the season of the sun. Read on…
ANGEL AQUINO: Last year, I went on a road trip to Pagudpud with some of my favorite people. We brought one car and took turns driving. Ilocos is beautiful. I will never forget our breakfast in Vigan, the pristine beach, laid back sober evenings filled with great conversations, alternating laughter and happy silence in between, the empanada and halo-halo at the side of Paoay church, visita Iglesia in the most beautiful Ilocos churches as we drive back to Manila. Three-day stay or on for as long as I live. I wish to spend a summer in either Spain or Tuscany. Rent a little home and try to live like a local for a month or so. Ride a bike around, go to the farmers’ market, learn to cook their way. That’s my dream summer vacation!
MERYLL SORIANO: My dream summer vacation would be at the beach with the whole family, doing nothing but beach stuff, with a lot of food and priceless fun moments. My best summer getaway was when I went to Sitges in Spain with my two dearest from the UK. Sadly, my son Eli wasn’t with me but it was one amazing trip of pure bliss under the sun, reading a book, and wandering around smelling like sun block all day long.
CHRISTINE BERSOLA-BABAO: This summer beach-beach lang. Sa Currimao, Ilocos Norte. Pero ang dream, dream pa lang! Hahaha! Amanpulo or Balesin.
BIBOY RAMIREZ: My dream summer vacation is to spend two weeks in a tropical island resort with unlimited free seafood and beer with my family, closest friends and loved ones. Boracay 2006! It was my first time to go to the island purely for vacation. My past trips to Boracay were strictly for work. That year, I met brand new friends everyday for five days. On my last day, I decided to extend five more days. It was my best summer getaway so far. But still hoping to top it. Soon!
MARION AUNOR: I’d actually want to go to Santorini, Greece! Hahaha! Ever since I saw the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie, I’ve included that place in my travel bucket list. Or maybe if I had a second house that was by a secluded beach, that’d seem pretty nice and chill!
LANCE RAYMUNDO: My dream summer vacation is an extended vacation abroad. Preferably, countries I have never visited before. Looks like this wish might be granted because I have a possible trip to Prague within the summer. Even if I previously mentioned that I want to go abroad this summer, just for a change. To me, the best summer getaways are still the beautiful beaches and islands of the Philippines.
