“I hope Filipino talents will be more recognized and opportunities will open for them in West End Theatre.” – Christian Bautista
Pagkatapos magbakasyon sa London ni Christian Bautista early this year, ipinaliwanag niya na tradisyon na raw niya na simulan ang taon sa pagbabakasyon sa ibang bansa.
“I really planned to go there to have a break. Parang nagiging habit na siya of mine na every start of the year I’d have a break somewhere to recalibrate,” sabi ni Christian
Ayon pa sa singer-actor, inubos niya ang dalawang linggong bakasyon dun sa pagpunta sa mga magagandang tanawin at nanood din siya ng mga shows doon kasama na ang shows ng dalawang kaibigan niyang sina Mark Bautista at Rachelle Ann Go.
“Pinanood ko sila sa West End. Eye-opener siya, the city is beautiful. I hope we can have cities like that here in this country. I watched Miss Saigon, Here Lies Love, and once I saw Ronan Keating perform and he was pretty good. I wish I could play the guitar like that,” kuwento pa ni Christian.
Proud si Christian sa ex niyang si Rachelle dahil bukod sa bahagi ito ngayon ng Miss Saigon bilang si Gigi ay natuto itong mamuhay ng mag-isa sa London.
“Nakaka-proud. It’s good. Mas independent na siya ngayon. She cooks and she cleans. She has her own house rented for her by the company, of course. She enjoys the new life she’s having.
“She’s on a totally different level and hopefully more doors will open for more Filipinos. I was able to spend time with her and Mark after the show with my brother. “
Wala nang plano si Rachelle na i-renew ang kontrata niya sa Miss Saigon. Sinusuportahan naman ni Christian ang desisyon na ito ni Rachelle.
“She’s auditioning for other roles also. I think it’s the right decision also, one year is enough. To the next one para maiba naman,” dagdag pa niya.
