Marian Rivera withdraws from The Rich Man’s Daughter; GMA supports her decision

Monday, April 13 was a joyous day for Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes when they announced Marian’s pregnancy. The couple’s loyal fans, their loved ones and showbiz netizens were equally elated with the news of the coming of the stork.
The couple also announced that Marian may give up several projects to give priority to her pregnancy.
On Wednesday, the actress also announced that depending on her condition, further along in her pregnancy, she may not be able to continue her current stint as a segment host of noontime show Eat Bulaga.
“Hindi ko lang kaya mag-Eat Bulaga kasi hindi ko na kakayanin,” she told reporters at the 555 Tuna press conference.
Marian was reportedly working double time for her upcoming teleserye, the Rich Man’s Daughter, coping up with the demand of her delicate condition. The actress had expressed excitement over her new show because of it’s theme, which features her as a woman in love with another woman.
Then on Friday night, April 17, news in the social media broke out that the Kapuso primetime queen has withdrawn from her teleserye, her comebacking project, after her December wedding.
GMA Network confirmed the development in a statement on Friday, adding that the Kapuso Primetime Queen will also not be joining her scheduled GMA Pinoy TV guestings abroad “due to her delicate condition.”
But the network assured fans that Marian will continue to appear in various shows on the network. However, it has not announced any information about the upcoming teleserye prompting netizens to suggest for GMA to rewind Marian’s Marimar instead of doing a remake. This is to keep Marian visible on TV despite her pregnancy according to one fan. Another fan said she’s willing to wait for Rich Man’s Daughter until Marian has given birth.

“Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera has withdrawn from her upcoming program The Rich Man’s Daughter and her Pinoy TV guestings abroad due to her delicate condition. GMA Network fully supports Marian’s decision and strongly believes that Marian and her baby’s safety is first and foremost. We would like to assure her supporters that Marian will still be seen in various shows in the Kapuso Network. We pray for a healthy and happy pregnancy for our dear Marian.”
