Actress Lotlot de Leon, husband join forces for ‘Quezon City Defenders,’ introduce players, coaches
“Mahilig po ako sa sports,” Lotlot de Leon says.
Though busy with her showbiz career, she also wants to focus on helping players achieve their dreams in basketball that’s why she and her husband Fadi El Soury decided to own and manage ‘Quezon City Defenders.’
“This was actually offered to us by NBL. We were interested right away,” she shares.
The award-winning actress points out, “Kaya siguro kami napunta dito ni Fady so that we can help them achieve their dreams.
“Kung ano man maitutulong ng grupo namin para sa batang ito para ma-achieve nila ‘yung mga pangarap nila hand-in-hand, of course, with our head coaches, assistant coaches, and NBL, sana marating nila ‘yung gusto nilang mapuntahan.”
‘Quezon City Defenders’ names top players including Lotlot’s son, Diego Gutierrez, who says that he wants to make a mark in the basketball court.
Other players are Bryan Cabrera, Enzo Battad, Normel Delos Reyes, Nikko Lazo, Joshua Roque, Joshua Bringas, Mj Enriquez, Christian Diaz, Nikko Lao, Mark Puspus, Bryan Nabayra, Dave Torregoza, Jr Barde, Peter Cecilio, Jeff Comia, Adzhar Udjan, Jake Bagon, Patrick Boffa, Edric Estacio
The team is being coached by Mickey Estrada together with Don Zamora, James Garcia, and Jeff Martin.
They promise that they will play and work hard to bring honor and success to the team.
Coach Mickey supports, “Ngayon, pinipilit namin and trying our best na makapag-practice sila, mabigyan sila ng magadang gym na pag-ensayuhan at first time nila magkaroon ng system. Malaking bagay. Sobrang supportive ng management ngayon. Bukod sa basketball, ‘yung future ng mga bata, sinesecure din nila.”
Catch ‘Quezon City Defenders’ this November 17, Sunday at the Philadelphia High School as they compete against Cam Sur Express.
