Advocate of rural, urban agriculture crowned Miss Ormoc 2019
Definitely it was a night to remember for the newly crowned Miss Ormoc 2019, candidate no. 20 AURA SHAZNAY TUMULAK as she is destined to be a beauty queen.
We witnessed the coronation night held last June 28, 2019 at the Ormoc City Superdome where twenty lovely ladies pitted for Miss Ormoc 2019.
The show was hosted by James Deakin and Karla Henry with celebrity special guests singer Ariel Rivera, heartthrob and Kapuso star Alden Richards, Dance Diva Regine Tolentino and the Pinoy Big Brother, Otso (Big Four Adult) Lou, Andre, Yamyam and Fumiya.
And shall we say that it was truly an awesome and fabulous show and indeed a world class production.
The 20-year old grand winner, Aura Shaznay Tumulak just graduated from her Bachelor of Science in Develelopment Communication major in Educational Communication Technology, Class of 2019 at Visayas State University, she stands 5’5 tall with body measurement of 34-25-36 and a resident of Barangay Alta Vista.
Tumulak is an advocate of rural and urban agriculture. She wants to start up family organization that aims to empower households in the city to practice gardening in hopes of ensuring food sustainability
Her winning answer on the question and made the judges acknowledged her wit.
“What makes an Ormocana a world class?” “I believe what makes an Ormocana a world class woman is her readiness to face the challenges amidst everything. She is someone that is ready, and she is bigger than Ormoc. She is someone that is smart, skilled and talented and she is someone that is willing to work with the Local Government Organization in pushing through with her advocacy because an Ormocana is a woman with a purpose.”
Considered as one of the highlights of this year’s fiesta celebration, Miss Ormoc 2019 proudly showcased the beauty and exemplary skills of some talented Ormocanons.
4th District of Leyte Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez said in her speech that Ormoc City has improved a lot in the past years due to the hard work and efforts of the local government led by the dynamic Mayor Richard Gomez, Vice Mayor Toto Locsin, Jr and the members of the Ormoc Development Team (ODT).
She also added that the winner would represent #theCityBeautifulPeople to the world and expected to embody all the good qualities of a modern Ormocana, being the epitome of a woman with substance.
Judges for this year’s pageant are Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Tomalla, Transcycle VP Tirso Arnado, host-celebrity-model Wilma Doesn’t, Miss Eco International 2019 1st Runner Up Maureen Montagne, Journalist Ricky Gallardo, Dance Diva Regine Tolentino and Miss World Philippnes Vice Chairman Arnold Mercado.
