Ai Ai defends Sharon on her rants for not being invited to Star Magic Ball
Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s public admission that she got hurt and insulted for getting last minute invitation in the recently concluded Star Magic Ball 2017 caused a stir in local tinseltown.
While she gained a lot of sympathizers, she also had her share of bashers on social media.
In an interview with Ai Ai, she gave her piece of mind to her best friend, Sharon regarding the incident.
“Sabi ko nga, ganoon lang talaga, minsan, nale-late (ang imbitasyon), minsan nakakaligtaan. So, hayaan na natin dahil mga bata naman ang naroon. Para sa kanila iyon. Gusto mo ba iyong ang gulo-gulo at ang ingay-ingay?” she said.
Ai Ai said if ever, the same thing happened to her, she would not get hurt or feel insulted.
“Star Magic Ball iyon. Hindi naman, iyon Kapamilya ball. Ako, ilang taon na rin akong Kapuso. Kung Kapamilya ball iyon at Kapamilya ako, doon ako masasaktan,” she pointed out.
For her part, she said she understands where Mega’s coming from.
“Naiintindihan ko siya at alam ko na marami rin siyang pinagdadaanan. So, sabi ko nga, ipinagpre-pray ko lang siya at bilang friend, bibigyan ko siya ng moral support. Bibisitahin sa taping. As a friend, aaluin ko siya, siyempre,” she declared.
“At saka, she’s a Megastar. Wala pa namang social media noon. Hindi kasi kami sanay na bina-bash o sinasabihan ng mga tao nang kung anu-ano,” she added.
Although one of Sharon’s closest friends, she does not advise the singer-actress to totally shy away from social media.
“Iba-iba naman tayo ng outlet. Iyon siguro ang release niya. Gusto niyang ibahagi sa mga tao na ganito ang kanyang nararamdaman, so hayaan na lang natin siya,” she remarked.
Ai Ai also admitted that she was once resentful towards other people but she’s glad that she’s able to outgrow it.
“Noon sa Star Cinema pero nag-patch up na kami at okey na kami at good vibes na,” she confided.
“Matanda na rin tayo para maging nega,” she added.
The Comedy Queen and her non-showbiz fiancé Gerald Sibayan are set to tie the knot in a church wedding on December 12, 2017.
One of her veil sponsors, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera pledged to pay her bridal gown as a gift.
Asked what is Sharon’s wedding gift to her, she said she has no idea yet.
“For sure naman, meron din iyon. Kasi, kinuha niya ang pangalan ni Gerald,” she said.
In the movie “Bes and the Beshies,” it’s Ai Ai’s first time to work with multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan.
“May pagka-istrikto siya pero nasa lugar. Marami rin akong natutunan sa kanya,” she shared.
Ai Ai plays the role of Charla, an experienced and resourceful racketeer with relationship and maternal issues in “Bes and the Beshies.”
“Nakaka-relate rin ako sa role dahil bago naman ako napunta sa kinatatayuan ko ngayon, kung ano-anong raket din ang pinasok ko para mabuhay. Marami rin akong naging trabaho bago ako naging comedienne,” she concluded.
Written by Ricky Lee, Alpha Habon and Rod Marmol, the movie also stars Zsazsa Padilla, Carmi Martin and Beauty Gonzales.
Included in the supporting cast are Emilio Garcia, Sancho Vito delas Alas, Alan Paule, Nikko Natividad, Jon Lucas, Wilbert Ross, Mark Joseph Tam and Heaven Peralejo.
The amiable comedy hits theatres nationwide starting October 18.
