Alessandra to direct her own web series

Jun 30, 2017

NOW that award-winning actress Alex de Rossi is now with Cornerstone Management, she is leaving no stone unturned to realize her other dreams.

She believes that with her new management company, she would be able to spread her wings.

Aside from acting, she also wants to broaden her horizons in recording, songwriting and yes, filmmaking.

She is also writing her own web series.

“It’s some of sort of Diary of 30 Somethings.

Alex believes that one doesn’t have to enrol in a formal writing or directing school to be able to direct a film.

Siguro, kakailanganin ko rin siya pero not at this time,” she says.

In her latest movie, ”Kita Kita,” Alex portrays a blind woman who falls for a physically unattractive guy.

According to Alex, she also believes that ‘love is blind.’

“Lahat naman tayo kapag umiibig, nagiging bulag. Kahit mayaman ka o mahirap. Minsan, hindi natin nakikita ang kakulangan o kapansanan ng isang tao, lalo na’t puso ang umiiral at saka lang minsan natin nare-realize kapag nasaktan na tayo or something,” she explains.

In finding a lifetime partner, looks are not everything for her.

This is not the first time for her to work with Empoy Marquez, her leading man.

“Nagkasama na kami before sa “One Night Only” pero hindi kami naging magkaeksena,” she recalls.

“Kita Kita” (I See You) was screened at 12th Osaka Asian Film Festival last March where it received good reviews from critics and film connoisseurs.

Direk Joyce Bernal, all praises for Direk Sigrid

Direk Joyce Bernal, one of the producers of Kita Kita, has all praises for her director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, whose credits include “Ang Huling Chacha ni Anita” and “Lorna.”

“Kahit ako, hindi ko kayang idirek ang ganoon kasi to be able to do that, dapat may specific vision ka talaga.

Kasi with Kita Kita, we’re trying to break the norms and create a new trend. Iyong producer nga naming si Lucky, sinabi niya bakit hindi kami gumawa ng romcom tungkol sa pangit, so iyong concept pa lang, unique na siya tapos we have an unlikely millennial team na Alempoy,” she says.

She did not hide also the fact the she is fond of Empoy.

“But seriously, Empoy is new discovery in this film. He is not only a comedian but a serious actor,” she adds.

Direk Joyce says that Spring Films, where she’s affiliated as one of the producers, is trying to build a network of talents.

As a matter of fact, aside from Sigrid,  they’re giving breaks to new breed and promising filmmakers like Victor Kaiba Villanueva (director of “Patay na si Hesus”) who will be directing “Tondo Undead,” Empoy’s follow up movie for the outfit.

Direk Perry Escano, awed by Vargas’ professionalism

Awed by Alfred Vargas’ professionalism, director Perry Escano teams up with his “Ang Guro Kong Hindi Marunong Magbasa” actor again.

Direk Perry is talking about “Ang Sikreto ng Piso,” a possible entry to the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Ang Sikreto ng Piso” is a family-oriented comedy and historical film inspired by actual events on the smuggle of the Philippine peso in 2006.

Aside from Alfred, the cast includes Wendell Ramos, Joey Marquez, Akihiro Blanco, Beverly Salviejo, Lou Veloso, Ernie Garcia, Andoy Ranay, Paul Sy, Long Mejia, Kelvin Miranda and a lot more.
