Alice Dixson does the 10-day detox challenge; sports younger-looking, to die-for figure and ready for more projects
It’s always a joy conversing with actress and former beauty queen Alice Dixson. That’s because she’s intelligent, straight-forward, bubbly and attentive. There’s no dull moment with her and she can talk everything and anything under the sun.
Aside from her beauty and disarming charm, this could be the reason why Alice remains to be the favorite interviewee among lifestyle writers and showbiz reporters alike.
During the presscon on Thursday to introduce and share the benefits of the “Super Feed/Feel Detox Challenge,” Alice convincingly explained the program with herself preparing the lemon-cayenne-honey juice detox for the media to try and taste.
Dixson shared that she recently took the 10-day detox challenge which was co-created by her cousin, wellness educator Dr. Camilla Griggers.
And she attested that she has since felt improvements in her body even if she has always had a healthy lifestyle.
“I got off my sleep medication, which I was on for a couple of years… I feel great, I can feel it! she gushed, adding that she feels more energetic and positive now.
While it was not intended, Dixson also lost six pounds during the 10-day process. The result was evident – a glowing Alice in her more firm, younger-looking, and to-die for figure.
The idea behind Super Feed/Feel Detox Challenge, according to Griggers, who is also the co-creator of the self-care website The Healist, is to get rid of toxins in the body while still feeling full of nutrients.
The challenge asks participants to dedicate 10 days to nourish their body and cleanse crap, congestion, sediment and toxins out of their intestines/colon, kidneys/bladder, and liver/gallbladder. The detox also challenges people to purge stagnant thoughts, emotions and belief systems that can make one sick.
And instead of offering products, Griggers said The Healist has instead focused on telling people how to prepare the drinks and broths for the detox at home. Moreover, the ingredients needed to create the liquid diet are readily available at supermarkets and health stores.
The Detox Process
Participants are encouraged to consume only organic raw food two days before the program to boost gut health.
Then on day one onward, participants are challenged to stop chewing solid foods.
“Because when you’re not eating solid foods, your gut, liver, and kidneys get to take a break from constantly dealing with all your crap,” Griggers said.
The next step is to get nutrient saturated with liquid foods. Aside from detox lemon juice, participants should go for green juices, potassium-rich veggie broth with coconut oil, super food drinks with chia seeds for vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and omega fats.
Videos of Dixson doing the challenge have been uploaded on The Healist’s social media accounts.
Griggers suggested that those who are interested to do the detox should do it with their partner, friend or a family member so they will not be tempted to go back to unhealthy eating.
“You can stop this cleanse at five days, you can do seven or ten. Give your liver time to detox,” Griggers said. “Your digestive system shuts down for a little bit and that allows all your detox systems to turn way up.”
She added that one can do detox once or twice a year.
