Allen Dizon is quite optimistic about the recent triumph of indie films at the box office

Indie King Allen Dizon is one of the producers of ATD Productions, the film outfit behind the critically acclaimed “Magkakabaung” which made him an internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning actor.

The prestigious film outfit has just finished “Bomba” slated to compete in an A-list international film festival.

To start filming is Ralston Jover’s “Persons of Interest.”

“Actually, more of nominal partner lang ako sa ATD. Kung meron man akong share, konti lang,” he said.

Lately, in most of his films, he plays dark characters.

According to Allen, this is not deliberate nor intentional.

He said that this is his first time to play the role of a blind man who happens to be a cook.

So, kailangang dapat magkaiba ang atake, kaya ganoon siya ka-kumplikado,” he explained.

With the recent triumph of indie films like “Kita Kita” and  “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” at the box office, Allen is quite optimistic with this development.

He also believes that mainstream actors are not providing competition for actors doing indie films.

“Persons of Interest” also stars Dimples Romana, Liza Lorena, Cecille Yumul,  Romeo Lindain and new child wonder JJ Quilantang.
