ABS-CBN’s ‘Princess of All Media’ Anne Curtis together with good friends and business partners Isabelle Daza, Kim Atienza and current beau Erwan Heusaff [as its principal shareholders] paid-in a capital of P20 million to Xurpas Inc., the maker of smartphone games and stickers to launch a new mobile game company focused on celebrities.

Xeleb, the name of their company, has just released its first mobile game app called ‘Anne Galing,’ which is a Match-3 game based on Curtis herself. It’s now initially available for downloads on Google Play.

“We view Anne, Isabelle, Kim and Erwan as tentpole properties. We’ll build a constantly growing portfolio of games based on their celebrity brand…The four celebrity shareholders will also help Xeleb expand its network of stars. Xeleb will own the celebrity games space,” said Raymond Racaza, chief operating officer of Xurpas.

Racaza said the mobile gaming firm was inspired by the success of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, a mobile game launched in 2014.

The success of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood created the “celebrity-branded game” genre in casual games.

Xurpas earlier said it will spend a total of P395 million for new investments, leaving it with P895 million to spend on further expansion.

The firm’s revenues grew by 52 percent to P132.23 million in the first quarter of 2015, up from the 86.76 million the previous year.

Meanwhile, Anne Curtis remains unaffected by Rhap Salazar’s comment that he hates artists who lip-sync on television. According to Anne, she had never performed to a pre-recorded track during her production numbers. “I’ve never done a lip-sync and people knew that because I would get off-key most of the time,” she said smiling.

“Besides, I know my limitations. I know what I am capable of doing, but I only want to entertain my fans and to simply enjoy what I do on stage. You just have to respect other people’s opinions. I admit I’m not a singer, but heck I was able to draw audiences into big venues and I’m okay with that.

Having launched a successful recording career with several sold-out concerts on her resume, Curtis has always emphasized that she is an “entertainer” and not a singer.

“I have never claimed to be one [a singer], but when I’m up there onstage performing, I try to give my all and do my very best,” she said.

Her message to netizens: “I hope that netizens, especially with everything happening right now, learn that it’s not okay to bash,” she said.
