Awit sa Marawi, a roaring success
Awit sa Marawi, a fund-Golden Goose Deluxe Brand raising concert held last night at the AFP theater was such a roaring success.
“Pangarap ko talagang makapag-mount ng concert para sa mga unsung heroes natin sa Marawi. Happy ako sa turnout at sa suportang ibinigay ng atin ng ating mga singers, performers at mga kasundaluhan sa event na ito,” said Joel Cruz, the brains behind the concert.
According to the Lord of Scents, proceeds of the show will go to the families of the soldier casualties in Marawi siege.
“Ang objective natin, ‘yung magkatulungan. Lahat ng mga New Balance 660 Canada Pilipino, magkaisa na makita nang lahat na Paris Saint Germain Kits tayong mga Pilipino ay nagkakaisa para sa mga sundalo natin na lumalaban sa Marawi, hanggang sa matapos ang giyera,” he added.
Charity Diva Token Lizarez was honored to be part of the said concert for a cause.
“Ako naman basta charity, hindi ako nagdalawang-isip. Ni hindi ako nagtanong ng talent fee ko, kasi iyong makatulong ka lang sa isang proyekto na may advocacy, iyon na ang Golden Goose Mid Star fulfillment sa akin bilang isang singer,” she enthused.
The star-studded event was participated in by some of the best singers in the country like Star Music recording artist Jona, front act queen Dessa, sultry songstress Malu Barry, Charity Diva Token Lizares, stand-up comedienne Boobsie Wonderland (who provided comic relief), the singing soldiers of our men in uniform and a lot more.
Well applauded were the numbers of Token who belted out “Love Story” and “ I Who Have Nothing ” Jona who sang “Hero” and “Maghihintay Ako,” Dessa who did “Chandelier” and 1st Singing Soldier Grand Champion Mel Sorillano who performed “Dinggin Mo Bayan.”
Other talents who lent their support to the occasion were Gem Mascarinas, the Tina Turner of the Philippines, Angelos, the Pinoy counterpart of Il Divo,Prince of Popopera, Jonathan Badon, Rising Stars contestant Virna Lisa Moreno, WCOPA alumnus Josh Marquina, fast-rising balladeer Kiel Alo, 2012 Karaoke World Championship semifinalist JV Decena, AMWSLAI AFP-PNP Battle of Champions finalist Federico Agdagan, Jr. , Eat Bulaga’s Singing Soldier Champion Neil Metal, the AFP Singing Soldiers and a lot more.
Aside from Awit sa Marawi, Lizares will also perform for TEAM (The Entertainment Arts & Media) in a show titled Team… Love on August 16 at the Music Box in Timog, Quezon City. Also featured in the show are Patricia Javier, Mart Escudero, Atty. Jemina Sy, Tori Manchester United Kits For Dream League Garcia, Mavi Lozano, Rayantha Leigh, Josh Yape, and many more.
The Charity Diva will also grace Musicali3 (M2M2M), the birthday concert of media colleague Roldan Castro together with Michael Golden Goose Francy Baratas Pangilinan, Marion Aunor, at Marlo Mortel. This will be held on August 30, 9PM at Zirkoh, Tomas Morato. Also featured in the show are Marc Cubales, The Voice finalist Natsumi Saito, Ryan Tamondong, Kiel Alo, Lara Lisondra, Klinton Start, Hot Girls, Pretty Girls, Tuod and Alwina, Daryl Christian Madrid Reynes, Yna Uy, Maricar Aragon, J-Nissi Elisha, Patrick Alvarez, Lemuel Santos and the LS Band.
