BIFF to showcase outstanding Pinoy films
Malaking bagay para sa Film Development Council of the Philippines sa pamumuno ni Chair Liza Dino-Seguerra na napili ang Pilipinas na mai-showcase sa 23rd Busan International Film Festival sa Korea.
Proud siya na ang bansa ang napiling Country of Focus sa BIFF 2018.
Magandang pagkakataon daw ito para makilala pa ng buong mundo ang kultura at kakanyahan ng mga Pinoy pagdating sa paggawa ng mga de-kalibreng pelikula lalo pa’t nataon ito sa ikasandaang taon o centennial ng Philippine cinema.
Pangungunahan nina Christopher de Leon (Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos, Cain at Abel, Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon?, Dekada ’70), Piolo Pascual (Dekada ’70), Sandy Andolong (Moral), at Joel Torre (Bayaning Third World) ang Philippine delegation sa 23rd Busan International Film Festival (Oktubre 4-13, South Korea).
Labinsiyam (19) na pelikulang Pilipino ang ipalalabas doon mula Oktubre 5 hanggang 10.
Sixty to 70 Filipino filmmakers ang kasama sa delegasyon.
FDCP ang may sagot sa pamasahe nila samantalang ang accommodation ay sagot ng Busan filmfest.

Sa “A Window on Asian Cinema” section, kasali ang Citizen Jake (2018, Mike de Leon), Alpha: The Right to Kill (2018, Brillante Mendoza), The Eternity Between Seconds (2018, Alec Figuracion), Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus (2018, Dwein Baltazar), Lakbayan (2018, Lav Diaz, Brillante Mendoza & Kidlat Tahimik), at Signal Rock (2018, Chito Roño).
Sa “Wide Angle” section ay tampok naman ang short films na Last Order (Joji Alonso) at Manila is Full of Men Named Boy (Stephen Lee), at ang documentary na Land from God (Kevin Piamonte).
