Cesar Montano excited to be back on TV

Maliban sa pagkakabasura ng complaint na isinampa sa kanya ng dating asawang si Sunshine Cruz, masaya si Cesar Montano dahil muli itong nagbabalik-telebisyon. Kasama sa lead cast si Buboy [palayaw ni Cesar] sa TV adaptation ng 1985 Danny Zialcita classic Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap? Na magsisimulang mapanood simula sa February 15. Makakasama ni Cesar dito sina Claudine Barretto, Meg Imperial at Diether Ocampo. Nagkaroon ng pagkakataong makapanayam sandali ng Philippine Showbiz Republic (PSR.ph) si Cesar.
Gaano kalapit ang magiging kuwento ng orihinal na pelikula sa magiging TV version ng “Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap”?
“I guess it’s similar in terms of roles, but the story has to be stretched for the TV version. Yung two-hour film has to be turned and tweaked a bit so that it can be transformed into a TV series that will go on for months,” saad ni Cesar.
Anong masasabi mo sa pagkakabasura ng isinampang reklamo sa iyo ni Sunshine?
“I’d say I’m glad na ganun yung nangyari kasi wala naman talaga silang batayan at sapat na pruweba para patunayan yung mga inaakusa niya sa akin. I’d rather not comment further kasi siya pa rin naman ang ina ng aking mga anak and I don’t want my kids to suffer,” paiwas na sagot nito.
Kumusta na ba ang buhay niya ngayon?
“When I got separated, I discovered that life can still be beautiful even as a ‘bachelor.’ In fact, this new phase of my life brought me to another level of spirirtuality and made my faith in God deeper.”
Kahit napapabalitang nabuntis daw niya diumano ang dating Miss Earth Philippines at modelong si Sandra Seifert na malaki ang pagkakahawig sa kanyang ex wife ay walang inaamin si Cesar. Aniya, “Hindi naman artista si Sandra. It’s going to be unfair so let’s not drag her name in whatever issue I am involved with.”
Ang siniguro lang ni Cesar ngayon, mas malapit na siya sa Diyos. “More than ever, ngayon ko masasabi na mas lumalim ang pananampalataya ko sa Diyos. Mas naging at peace din ako sa buhay ko and I sleep more soundly because of that.”
Kaya naman, sobrang excited daw siya sa kanyang pagbabalik sa TV pagkatapos ng matagal na hiatus from showbiz. “Of course, I needed the break from showbiz. Once nakapag-recharge na ako, I’m raring to go and work again. Kaya nga kakaiba ang thrill ko in doing Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap for TV5 eh. Unang-una kasi this is going to be the first time to be working with Claudine and Diether. Ikalawa, I’m blessed to have this project lang talaga.”
How was it working with Claudine?
“It was fun working with Claudine. I find her very professional and magaling na aktres talaga, no doubt about it. She comes to the set with her lines memorized. Maaga siya lagi sa set. When she arrives, we would start reading our scripts with direk Joel [Lamangan] right away. So very smooth-sailing lalo na since direk Joel has a curfew na hanggang 12 midnight lang ang taping.”
Any advice you can give to aspiring actors?
“Always listen. Don’t memorize your lines but master them. Spend time with your fans because they are the very reason why you are here in showbiz.”
What don’t people know about Cesar Montano?
“I am nothing without my lord and savior Jesus Christ!”
