131028122428-13-chris-brown-1028-horizontal-large-gallery Grammy-award winning singer Chris Brown’s departure was delayed because of fraud allegations against him and his promoter from the canceled New Year countdown concert he was supposed to do but backed out at the last minute reportedly because of a lost passport.

Brown performed at a jam-packed concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday night. But he was prevented from boarding his private jet plane because of a pending clearance from the Bureau of Immigration. “It was a misunderstanding that has since been cleared up,” said Nicole Perna, Brown’s spokeswoman. “Chris leaves tomorrow for Hong Kong to continue his concert tour.”

Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) who owns the New Year’s Eve concert venue, Philippine Arena, petitioned the Department of Justice for help in prosecuting Brown. The letter said after making representations that Brown would perform at the concert, and after having fully paid for the two men’s services, Brown failed to appear and perform at the concert, to the damage and prejudice of INC. The Bureau of Immigration spokeswoman Elaine Tan said Brown and his promoter, John Michael Pio Roda, were placed on the bureau’s “lookout bulletin” on the instruction of the Department of Justice.
