Christian, Cacai ecstatic over The Ghost Bride’s success
The Ghost Bride stars Christian Bables (2017 Gawad Urian best supporting actor) and ace comedienne Cacai Bautista graced the inaugural opening of the Citymall Cinema in Citimall, Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija recently.
After the blessing of the cinema, a special screening of the talked-about movie ensued to the delight of the Nueva Ecijanos.
For Cacai, she said she is mighty proud of the movie especially that it has already raked approximately P15 million at the tills on its opening day.
“Feeling ko, box office star na rin ako. Nakaka-proud na maging part ng isang project na tinatangkilik ng mga manonood,” the Dental Diva said.
For Christian, he’s happy that their collaborative efforts have paid off.
“Iyon pong pagkita ng pelikula, malaking boost po siya sa amin. Inspirasyon pa siya para sa amin para pagbutihin ang craft namin at maghatid pa ng quality films na bukod sa maganda ang pagkakagawa ay commercially viable,” he said.
Cacai also thanked the veteran director for given her the opportunity to work with him.
“Actually, hindi naman ako Chinese, pero first time na ginawa niya akong Chinese. Akala ko, wala na akong puwedeng magawa pa pero sa tulong ni Direk, na-realize ko na marami pa pala akong puwedeng i-explore sa sarili ko,” she pointed out.
Christian also stated that he’s blessed to be mentored by master director, Chito Roño.
“Sobrang saya ko. To be given the amount of trust is a different kind of thing. Masarap siya sa pakiramdam. Actually, Direk Chito is very full of surprises,” he declared.
He also said that Direk Chito might be meticulous but he is not a ‘terror’ one, contrary to what others say.
“Ni minsan hindi niya ako napagalitan. Siya iyong director na nagtitiwala sa kanyang actor,” he told PSR.
“I think, kapag prepared ka as actor at ginagawa mo ang job mo at pinag-iigihan mo ang craft mo as an actor, you don’t need to worry, dahil si Direk naman nakakausap. As an actor, you have the duty to collaborate with your director,” he added.
Cacai acquiesced with Christian on this matter.
“Si Direk kasi lagi siyang naghahanap ng iba kaya dapat alamin mo na lang kung ano iyon and you really have to work hard for it,” she concluded.
Currently showing in all cinemas nationwide, “The Ghost Bride” continues to draw crowds at the box office.
