Comedienne Joy Viado needs financial assistance to help save her leg from amputation
by PSR News Bureau
Comedienne Joy Viado was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus in 2000 and she underwent two debridement surgeries and is even scheduled for her third. And Joy needs financial assistance for her medical expenses, considering she also needs to undergo hyperbaric therapy and suction therapy (each session of hyperbaric therapy costs around Php6,000.) She’s currently confined at the Female Surgucal Charity Ward of the Chinese General Hospital (since May 1), and needs about Php3,000 for medicines everyday.
Her doctors are giving debridement surgery one last try. If that fails, they’d be forced to amputate her affected leg.
Well-meaning friends are trying to help her with expenses through a fundraiser entitled “Jam for Joy,” this May 31 at 19 East Bar & Grill in Sucat, Parañaque. Bernardo Bernardo will host the show while guests include Richard Merck, Noel Cabangon, and Judith Banal.
The Library Malate will also have their own fund-raising event for Joy this May 20.
Joy is best known for appearing in shows such as AngTV and Luv U on ABS-CBN.
Tickets for “Jam for Joy” go for P500 each. For reservations and donations to Joy Viado’s medical expenses, contact Ms. Annette Lucido at 09223131722.
