Diether Ocampo’s back in the limelight after long hiatus

KAPAMILYA STAR PATROL- Malapit na muling mapanood sa telebisyon ang Kapamilya actor na si Diether Ocampo via the new teleserye ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’ na pagbibidahan nila nina Richard Yap at Young Superstar Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo. Mahigit dalawang taong nagpahinga si Diether sa serye at huli siyang napanood sa ‘Apoy sa Dagat’ katambal si Angelica Panganiban. And during that time na inactive siya sa showbiz ay pinagtuunan ng aktor ang pag-aaral.
“I took this program under La Salle called the Ace Enterpreneurship program which I’m finishing by 2016. It’s about business. Since I was busy finishing my school program yun yung pinagkakaabalahan ko. I’ve been waiting for a good project and finally Dreamscape offered this and I’m very happy that they considered me. The reason why I was away for a few months siguro or a few years because I’ve been busy training and also studying. Aside from that I’ve been busy training horse riding, horsemanship,” kuwento ni Diether sa interview.
Meanwhile, nasabi rin ni Diether na excited na siya sa kanyang pagbabalik sa telebisyon at looking forward siya sa pagtatrabaho kasama si Juday.
“I play the role of Anthony. So nagkaroon siya ng love interest dito pero ang tingin lang nung character ni Judy Ann sa kanya ay isang kaibigan lang, so dun magkakaroon ng very interesting twist kasi another character will be coming in so magkakaroon ng love triangle. Isa akong parang homeless kid na inampon. My role was able to identify with this person na nagpalaki sa kanya and then nung pumasok siya sa isang academy nakilala niya yung character ni Judy Ann,” kuwento pa ni Diet.
Nag-react din si Diet sa tsikang naging mapili raw ito sa mga roles kaya nawalan ng mga proyekto. Wala raw katotohanan ito.
“Well, I guess I don’t think being picky is the right word. Siguro hindi lang fit, mahirap naman ipilit but of course I’m very thankful to those people who considered me for this role. I think starting with this project I’ll be very busy na. I’m finishing other small projects on the side,” sagot pa nito.
Malaki rin daw ang utang na loob niya sa Kapamilya network na naging tahanan niya all these years ng kanyang career.
“I guess that this will always be my family. Not only my immediate family but also my family here in ABS-CBN especially Star Magic and of course Dreamscape. I worked with all of the people who are part of it and I am forever indebted to them,” sambit pa ni Diether.
Glaiza De Castro owes her significant role in ‘The Rich Man’s Daughter’ to Marian Rivera
KAPUSO CHIKA MINUTE-Thankful ang Kapuso actress na si Glaiza De Castro sa kaibigang si Marian Rivera-Dantes dahil sa ‘pakikipaglaban’ na ginawa nito para maging part siya ng seryeng ‘The Rich Man’s Daughter.’ Nang malaman nga raw niyang pregnant na si Marian at nagdesisyon itong hindi na ituloy ang serye ay agad niya itong tinawagan.
“Naging emotional ako nang malaman kong buntis siya (Marian). Nag-Viber message ako sa kanya. Sabi ko, ‘Kahit na anong mangyari, nagpapasalamat ako.’ Isa siya talaga sa malaking dahilan kaya ako nasa ‘The Rich Man’s Daughter.’
“Bago pa kami nagsimula, tinatawagan na niya ako na, ‘Ipu-push kita rito!’ Nakapag-establish na kami ng rapport sa ‘Temptation of Wife’ at sa ‘Amaya.’ Kumbaga, naging komportable na siya sa akin.”
“I’ve texted her, sabi ko, ‘Gusto kong magpasalamat sa‘yo sa pakikipaglaban mo sa akin!’ Sabi ko, ‘kahit anong mangyari, nandito lang din kami para suportahan ka at mag-pray sa‘yo, sa pamilya mo, sa bagong chapter ng buhay mo!’” pahayag ni Glaiza.

So how does she feel now that Rhian replaced Marian?
“I believe in Rhian’s talent. Nagkasama na kami sa ‘Stairway to Heaven’ before na inaapi-api ko siya. This time, ibang atake naman. Kinunan na yung eksenang nakikipag-break siya sa’kin at umiiyak ako sa kanya at nakikiusap na huwag niya akong iwanan.”
“Parehas kaming femme dito, mga lesbians na mukhang babae pa rin. Yung butch dito si Chynna (Ortaleza), who plays my best friend, siya yung nagdadamit lalaki. Katrina Halili plays my ex-lover naman na iniwanan ko at inaaway-away si Rhian.
Meanwhile, aside sa teleserye busy rin ngayon si Glaiza sa pagpo-promote ng kanyang album na ‘Synthesis’ at sa kanyang business na ‘Runner’s Kitchen’ na isang organic restaurant kung saan ay part owner siya.
Kino-consider ni Glaiza na answered prayer ang album na ito dahil ibinuhos daw niya ang kanyang heart and soul sa eight original songs which she herself composed. “This is the way I express myself through music. Sa taping, I bring my guitar and in between takes, I write my songs.”
The carrier single “Dusk Til Dawn” (which comes with a music video you can now watch in MYX and youtube) delivers a relaxing vibe that surely all indie fans will enjoy. Derek Ramsay renews contract with Kapatid Network (TV5)
KAPATID SHOWBIZ KONEK-Muling pumirma ng tatlong taong kontrata si Derek Ramsey sa TV5 kaya walang katotohanan ang tsikang babalik ito sa Kapamilya network.
“It’s true that I’ve finished a new movie with Star Cinema, an action-thriller directed by Toto Natividad, ‘Pangil’, where I’m up against a giant crocodile. Then I’m doing another movie with Coleen Garcia. But on TV, sa TV5 pa rin ako because I’m so happy here. I signed up with them in 2012 and during that time, I was able to do two seasons of ‘Amazing Race’, the superhero series ‘Kidlat’ na tumatak talaga sa tao and introduced me to kids hanggang sa dulo ng Palawan, the action series ‘Undercover’, the mini-series ‘For Love or Money’, the telemovie ‘Bawat Sandali’ with Angel Aquino that they’re now planning to release theatrically with some reshoots, and now, the hit comedy ‘Mac & Chiz’ and the action show, ‘Extreme Series’. I really can’t complain. They’ve been taking very good care of me,” sabi ni Derek.
Ayon naman kay Ms. Wilma Galvante, ang Entertainment Head ng TV5 ay marami silang plano para kay Derek: “Tuloy ang ‘Mac & Cheese’ and ‘Extreme Series’ in their second seasons. We’re happy with his work in ‘Extreme’ where he does very dangerous stunts like going on top of a crane 230 feet above the ground. But we’ll also give him a noontime show on weekends and we’ll produce a movie for him.”
What will the movie be about? “We’ll have to sit down and plan it together,” pahayag pa ni Derek.
Thankful din daw siya sa napakagandang treatment sa kanya ng Kapatid network.
“The nice thing about TV5 is they always ask for my opinion in the projects I do with them. We work hand in hand and they don’t just tell me, ‘gawin mo iyan.’ They also don’t hold me down but allow me to grow as an artist by letting me work with other movie companies. Sa dami ng work ko ngayon, ako na talaga ang lalaking walang pahinga. But I really enjoy working hard. The dangerous stunts I do in ‘Extreme’ gives me the adrenalin rush I need and working with comedians like Empoy, John Lapuz and Jojo Alejar is helping me hone my own comedic skills.”
Proud naman ang TV5 President na si Mr. Noel Lorenzana sa pagkakaroon ng isang talent na gaya ni Derek. “He’s really the best personality to represent TV5. He’s a great guy, easy to work with, advertisers support his shows, so he’s the one best suited to be our ambassador.”
