Derek Ramsay to star as the Nascar Hall of Fame Racer ‘Enzo’ in Biopic

Jan 25, 2017

Derek Ramsay would lend his star power to shed light on the life of the late Filipino International Racer, Enzo Pastor in a biopic movie which will start production this summer.

Enzo Pastor was hero to the local racing scene. He made his debut in the 1999 Toyota Corolla Cup and went on to become a NASCAR Hall of Fame Awardee, the first Asian to have the honor.

He died in June 2014, from gunshot wounds after motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed the truck he was driving on the way to Clark, Pampanga where he was preparing for the last leg of 2014 Asian V8 Championship Series.

Derek Ramsay confirmed the rumors that he will star as lead on an exclusive party sponsored by Enzo Pastor’s family last January 24, 2017 at Prive Luxe Club, The Fort Strip, BGC.

The party, attended by friends from the media and the local racing community marks the 35th birth anniversary of Enzo Pastor.

“Derek has been very supportive of this project from the beginning and just like us, he believes what our son stood up for, not only in the local racing community but also the world stage. We hope the movie would inspire every Filipino to achieve world renown through hard work and passion as our son had been in his chosen field,” says Tom Pastor, father of the slain racer.

Tom Pastor and Remy Pastor, parents of Enzo Pastor are overseeing the project.

Helming the ENZO movie is the award-winning director, Enzo Williams (Bonifacio, Ang Unang Pangulo) who quickly became passionate about the movie proposal.

“I decided to take up the project because Enzo’s story is inspiring and I want to inspire other Filipinos that they can reach their dreams if they put their heart into it,” says Williams.

The exclusive party concluded with the release of a teaser clip from the movie. It’s a first look, not only of the tone of the movie but also the technical lengths at which the movie will be shot.

“This is going to be the first racing movie in Philippine cinema. Visually, we have drama and of course heart stopping action,” Williams added.

The Enzo Movie will hit theaters on June, 2017 which will also coincide with the racer’s 3rd death anniversary.
