Face of the Year is back!
So, what do Ina Raymundo, Alice Dixon, Rita Avila, Sabrina Artadi, Janelle Barretto, Timmy Cruz, Dale Villar, Matthew Mendoza, Gary Estrada, Hans Montenegro, Carlos Morales, and even Richard Gomez (before he joined showbiz), have in common?
Well, all of them started their careers under one talent discoverer, Jojo Veloso, the founder of Philippine Modeling Agency (PhilModa), and the producer of Face of the Year (FOTY), a prominent modeling search in the 80s. After years of hiatus, FOTY is back to pursue its goal in looking for new faces and more deserving aspirants who can make it big in modeling, and eventually show business. But this time, he will be joined with a production house named 16 Degrees Entertainment, as his partner, headed by Bernie Cruz, as the big boss.
In his quest to continue what he had started years ago, Jojo is happy to announce that the search for FACE OF THE YEAR 2018 is on. For the past weeks, preliminary screening has been going on in his office, like accepting applicants (via onlne), then conduct interviews on weekends, and if they are ready to face the camera, they can proceed to join the photo sessions.
On October 14, it will be the grand launch of FOTY at the Pacific Star, in Makati Avenue, and all applicants who passed the preliminary screening will be presented to the press. And from there, forty (40) official candidates will be chosen, 20 boys and 20 girls. As part of the launch, Jojo’s new artists, the Bratboys and the Fabulous Girlfriends will be formally introduced to the public. The lucky winners of FOTY 2018 will be chosen in January to be mounted at the Mega Tent in Libis, Quezon City.
“I decided to relaunch the search because I was encouraged by some influential people and friends who felt that it is the right time to bring back the search,” Jojo explained. “And I am convinced that this search is the best avenue for my return and to continue the journey where I left and what I have started.”
