Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. is stripped of WBO belt title that he won against Pacquiao

Noong May 2, 2015 ay natalo ni Floyd Mayweather, Jr. via unanimous decision si Manny Pacquiaco para sa titulong WBO Welterweight Champion. Dahil dito’y nanatiling undefeated si Mayweather ngunit matapos ang ilang buwan ay kaagad binawi ito ng World Boxing Organization o kilala bilang WBO.
Lumagpas diumano ito sa deadline upang bitawan ang kanyang Junior Middle Weight World title at hindi rin siya umabot sa ibinigay na panahon upang bayaran ng US$200,000 bilang sanctioning fee sa “fight of the century,” ayon sa WBO.
“The WBO World Championship Committee is allowed no other alternative but to cease to recognize Mr. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. as the WBO Welterweight Champion of the world and vacate his title for failing to comply with our WBO regulations of world championship contests.” -WBO
Sa kabila nito ay binigyan pa rin ito ng dalawang linggo para umapila. Sa ngayon ay wala pang ibinibigay na pahayag ang magkabilang kampo [ Mayweather at Pacquiao] kaugnay sa issue.
