For JC Santos, the best way to deal with heartbreak is
Acclaimed actor JC Santos admitted that he’s still in the process of healing over his breakup with theater actress Teetin Villanueva.
Not wanting to elaborate anymore, he said that he already wants to move on.
Talking of affairs of the heart, he has a different strategy when it comes to moving on.
To mend his broken heart, he believes travelling can help one to de-stress.
Although not an end all, he also believes that it is extremely a good medicine for a weary mind and a bruised soul.
“The best way to deal with heartbreak is to travel. To travel alone. Sinusuportahan ko lahat nang nagtra-travel mag-isa. Kasi, mas nahahanap mo ang sarili mo kapag walang ibang tao sa paligid mo.”
In dealing with heartbreaks, he also has a different “hugot.”
“Para makalimot, I have to keep myself busy. Nagtra-travel ako especially that I’m a backpacker guy. Nagso-soul searching and I meet a lot of people and I like that part,” he pointed out.
He also admitted that he uses his own experiences to identify personally with his character.
“Lahat naman, sinumang writer, director or artist, wala kang ibang ikukuwento kundi iyong sarili mo. Saan humuhugot? Siyempre, sa mga personal experiences. How you say the lines is your personal story, especially that as actor, I trust my memory more,” he said.
He also said that he’s quite adventurous and loves the outdoors.
“I was a traveler kahit noong bata pa ako. Actually, dumating ako sa puntong at the time, No Permanent Address na ako,” he confessed.
In travelling alone, he’s able to expand his horizons.
“Marami kang natutunan hindi lang sa history, sa culture at sa way of living ng iba’t ibang tao,” he said.
In his travel to different places, he also admitted he met a woman who became close to his heart.
“When I was in Thailand, I met someone. Tourist din siya. She’s very special to me and sometimes you know, some good things really never last. So, kailangang siyang mag-stop eventually kahit gaano painful. Lahat naman ng goodbyes, painful,” he said.
However, he clarified that she’s not cause of his breakup with his ex.
“No, hindi siya ang rason,” he said.
“It’s actually the lack of time na makasama siya. Actually, nagui-guilty ako dahil wala akong time sa kanya, and I wish na sana, matagpuan niya ang lalakeng mas deserved niya,” he added.
Compared to other movie projects that he did, he did not physically prepare for his movie, “Mr. and Mrs. Cruz.”
“Walang pa-abs kasi walang namang nag-order ng abs. Mas gusto rin kasi ni Direk na maging raw iyong emotions na kailangan niya sa kanyang artista. Iyong walang filter,” he asseverated.
He’s also all praises for his co-stars in the movie especially Ryza Cenon.
“Sobrang bilib ako sa kanya. Bukod sa professional, napaka-talented niyang actress. Isa siya sa mga nasa bucket list ko,” he concluded.
Aside from Ryza, “Mr. and Mrs. Cruz” also stars Yayo Aguila, Dennis Padilla, Dido Dela Paz, Lui Manansala, Bong Cabrera, and Sophie Rankin.
Penned and directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the blockbuster director of “Kita Kita,” the movie is now playing in cinemas nationwide.
