How Jose Manalo runs jokes

Nov 16, 2017

EB Host and comedian Jose Manalo believes that the Tres Lolas’ (Lola Nidora, Lola Tidora and Lola Tinidora) characters in the show’s kalyeserye are here to stay.

Nakikinig talaga sila sa mga matatanda kahit pa sabihing walang kuwenta iyon taong nakatayo as Lola, nakikinig at nakikinig sila,” he added.

He’s also proud of his Lola Tinidora character in the said show.

“Ako iyong malanding lola, Ako iyong butangera. Gusto ko iyon. As Jose in real life, buskador ako.

He credits his comic flair for being a street smart.

Kapag kasi komedyante ka, dapat malakas ang loob mo at wala kang hiya,” he pointed out.

He’s also thankful that he doesn’t run out of jokes and antics.

Lumalaki. Tapos nagtutugma pa iyong mga utak namin kaya lumalaki at doon kami nagkakatulungan, kaya hindi kami nauubusan,” he quipped.

Aside from Lola Tinidora, Jose also mimics President Duterte’s character as Dugong in “Sunday Pinasaya.”

He said though he has not received any bashing from Duterte’s supporters since.

He’s also happy that his sons Nicco and Benj are also making their own names in showbiz without his help.

He said that he is open to working with them in the future.

“Darating iyon. Meron ding time na darating iyon.

He told PSR that he also gives advice to them on how to stay in showbiz.

Kasama na iyong respeto at pati iyong pakikisama,” he concluded.

Jose Manalo, together with Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros, topbill “Trip Ubusan: The Lolas vs. Zombies” due in theaters on November 22.

It is Jowapao’s biggest movie as a comic trio although they have appeared together in one of Vic Sotto’s previous films.

It offers suspense, horror and comedy at its best as the lolas battle with zombies in their bid to save their grand daughter Charmaine (Caprice Cipriano) and other zombie targets.
